2023 Draft Thread.

So we are now pick 35

Who are our options?

I know Archer Reid and don't mind that option unless he's taken earlier.

But from the junior watchers who else is in the frame that we should be looking at?

This draft shows what a flawed system the whole thing is.
North with so many low picks being rewarded for being crap, the academy rort, the father son rort …

Let’s ban compensation picks and pay full price for academy and father sons. If the suns get all those players they should be out of at least round 1 in 2024, probably more.

The way to get this fixed is for the tigers to have a couple of elite father sons and academy picks and the AFL is bound to close the loopholes !!!

5 picks ahead of us with Reid, Morris, Simpson, Edwards, Jiath, Lual, Freijah, Stevens, Schoenmaker, Roberts, Murphy still on the board.

Simpson my favourite out of those. Think we might just get pipped for him.

I'm not really sold on Reid, Shoenmaker or ZZ Top so hoping they get taken before our pick.

1 of Roberts, Simpson, Sanchez or Murphy at our 1st pick would be good for is IMO.

Imagine if we just had won our 3rd flag and Nick Dacios walked in the door for free.
Hocking would be on the phone to Gilligan crying.
The academy's need to stop.
Where's our Academy in the Amazon??

What it really shows is that we are getting nothing from our academy zone. Either we have been stitched up or we are not managing it well. Other clubs are manipulating these zones by moving families into the location. Nobody wants to live in Shepparton.... Plus our father sons are drawing blanks.
