2022 Draft Thread

Yep he gets frees at will.

Also every 182 mid in a blue jumper gets commentated as ashcroft.

I reckon his 51 disposal record was set by 3 blokes. 4 if you count the ump.

Hes a first round player, but not no.1 imo.

The armchair ride wont translate completely to AFL.

I Like mackenzie out of that midfield and harry cheezels looks the real deal.

Saints will be licking their lips - somehow mackenzie is next gen academy and he may slip past 20 and they get him cheap

Nick watson only had 3 touches too, and one was a gryan miers/ginavan/brad close special

Nick madden 205 allies ruckman will play AFL. As will bottom age jed walters - hes 195 and seems shai bolton quick.

Allies coach revolutionary 3 minute mid rotations could unearth some AFLX diamonds
Love Cheezel too. Junior footy rotations are getting way out of hand (as are senior footy ones too I guess).

I think Next Gen Academy are open slather up to top 40 now and I can’t see McKenzie lasting that long.

I would go to the AFL and state, why would Tigers care about the next generation academy when 6 years and no players have come.

I know they aren't game day stats .but they are a start

Yeah Madden is a big lad,204cm 112 kg .
I agree with you,l thought MacKenzie was really good, and Sheezel looks like top 10,l really haven't seen a lot at the moment to change my earlier thoughts on a few player's ,l still think Tom macallum from tassie is worth a late second or third round pick ,at 192 80kg he is a really good interceptor ,and *smile* he is quick .
I didn't really think much of the KP's in the Metro/allies match ,although Lewis Hayes from metro wasn't too bad .

I thought the Country/SA match was a better standard Jhye Clarke was very good ,lm thinking he is top 5 now ,Cadman was good ,he kept presenting and competing although the country forward line seemed very congested ,l thought James van es was excellent down back for country at 196cm 97kg he moves well and reads the play really well good user of the ball,l actually wondered why he got into the country side ,he played his best game l seen him play.

Harley Reid a bottom age player looks really good for next year,he was one of countries best player's.

Sa l thought Kobe Ryan was really good ,he kept them in the game imo,and isaac keeler at 198cm and 88kg looks a decent type ,probably has to improve his work rate ,but certainly has ability ,being a indigenous lad he reminds me a bit like Paddy Ryder ,only a little bit.

I‘m still confused as to if he can become a full time mid.
Me too. I thought as a junior he would, and I thought he was handy, but not so sure watching him at GWS. Few people have big wraps on him but not sure if they’re going a bit early. He’s ok but doesn’t look that dynamic to me.

Dropping your knees and driving your head into an opponent's armpit is now the first course of action for these kids (looking at you, Ashcroft). That'll draw the crowds, well done AFL. tHe hEaD iS sAcrOsaNCt.

Ashcroft is already an expert at it.

The free he got for the goal he wasn't even taken high. He got the free for ducking, like Neale did in the second quarter on Thursday night. They are rewarded for the action of stooging for a free, even when they don't force high contact.

*smile* the AFL.

Like the look of Reuben Ginbey from WA. He's won some clearances with explosive power and set up teammates. 189cm, did 2.85 for 20m earlier in the year. Not 18 til September, so turk can anticipate some more growth.

Elijah Hewitt is a classy prospect.
