2021 Draft Thread

IMO I think there will be a fair bit of live trading happening this year especially past the top 10. Clubs ratings and needs will differ a fair bit.

Take these Phantom Drafts with a grain of salt. They are all throwing darts hoping to land a few. The most wide open draft I can remember.

Soligo? Not been mentioned here so what does he offer and why no PRE love?
Mentioned him a few months ago. Been at the club as part of our VFL team along with Worner. Tidy player. Been playing with Eastern down back in a delivery/clearance role with the odd spell on the ball. Nice foot skills, bit small, average pace. Most possessions uncontested.

Not sure what role or need he fills.

Kinnear Beatson mentioned today a big difference between pick 12 and 16 this year. Their recruiting manager had a meltdown when they traded back from 12 to 16 for Ladhams.

Fair indication that the top end talent runs out at 14 this year. Then its very even from 15 to 30.

We might consider trading back 17 for another pick in the 20s and a 2nd rounder next year in that case.

A name that hasn't been mentioned but one who Leysy doesn't mind for one of our later picks depending on whos available - Lachie Rankin.

Pretty light ATM, but that can change and needs to find more of the footy. But the evasion, step, touch and kicking off either foot - Wow.

He's a ranger which is good. Lachie is a pretty soft name to balance it out.

Draper as one of our three picks in the second round is growing on me.
I'd be ok with Draper, perfect choice for a late twenties pick, big upside if he can develop a defensive mindset, could be a weapon on many fronts.

Know got laughed at, and probably still will. :p

But On Hobbs - if he does by chance get past Essendon at 11, he's better than even money to get to us ILHO.

Port and GWS (if keep pick) are next and are the two most flush clubs in the land for inside mids so unlikely.

Then leaves Lions before us. They possibly would, but also badly need run from the back half.

Agree though we still likely take him at 9. Solid pick who fits a need. But he might still be a Tiger if we don't take him then.
Wildly over rated on this site.
