2020 AFL Draft

Plenty of stuff on Elijah Hollands but not so much on the other kid who trained with us, young Xavier Maher.

20. Richmond - Nathan O'Driscoll
Height, Weight:
189cm, 78kg
Profile: Playing WAFL League football this year for Perth, O'Driscoll has shown the capacity to play inside, outside or on a back flank. O'Driscoll attacks the ball aggressively, tackles to hurt, demonstrates a high work rate, provides outside run and carry and has a penetrating kick.

39. Richmond - Liam McMahon
Height, Weight:
196cm, 84kg
Profile: McMahon is a key forward who attacks the ball aerially and takes marks at the highest point. While still quiet raw, McMahon is an good athlete with his leap and speed in particular impressive.

52. Richmond - Maurice Rioli Jnr (Richmond Father-Son)
Height, Weight: 173cm, 75kg
Profile: Son of Indigenous Team of the Century midfielder, Maurice Rioli, Rioli Jnr is arguably the premier pressure forward in this draft with the second and third tackle efforts he applies. Rioli Jnr possesses excellent speed, agility, ground level craft and is an instinctive finisher around goal with an impressive mind to body connection.
39. Richmond - Liam McMahon
Height, Weight:
196cm, 84kg
Profile: McMahon is a key forward who attacks the ball aerially and takes marks at the highest point. While still quiet raw, McMahon is an good athlete with his leap and speed in particular impressive.

Suns making the most of their concessions.

Davies and Jeffreys were no brainers on to main list

the other two I imagine they were anticipating bids? on to the rookie list.

Suns doing well building a significantly Queensland list.

That's beyond a joke academy kids honestly even for interstate clubs like suns, lions and gws, swans etc they have had enough time to establish themselves.

I remember when the draft was a highlight for Tiges supporters.

I dont quite get what you mean?

Far be it for me to defend the Suns, but they got these concessions in 2019, when they won 3 games (regressing from their 4 wins in 2018)

and all of us were wondering how they could possibly survive.

dont forget normally other clubs can bid on these Academy kids, some of whom the Academy club have put 6 years of development into.

The Lions, for example, put 4 years development into 3 blokes on our list.

who knows? The Suns could be nurturing the tigers next ruck rover as we write? I dunno.

For all its faults, The AFL runs the competition like a socialist dictatorship.

sure, the suns concessions are very generous.

But I suspect The Suns will win 8 next year, and The AFL have the discretion to, and probably will, wind back the concessions.

If Dodo did bid on MRJ in the first round (he wont)

I think we can and would live trade pick 20'ish

down for something equivalent like 2 picks in the mid 30's.

....
Or we trade for a future pick.
Out is 20is
in Hawks 2021 2nd or GC 2021 2nd

We then use pick 37 for Moju and have an equivalent 20ish next year
