Not too much to get excited about or am I being too harsh a judge ?

Lot to get excited about. This is the most even top 40 in a long time. Maybe only two or three outright stars but I see a lot of really good footballers available. A club with four picks inside 30 can really develop it's list.

Good scoop cause from what I could judge they were not much chop apart from Pickett.

I was interested in McCartin but he's not all that tall and not too good below the knees.

Petracca could turn into a Dipper and Laverde could be something special so fingers crossed we pick a good one.

Laverde is my current fav for our pick. Classy, fast, composed, tall, versatile. Huge potential.

If our pick ends up at 13 (providing the Dee's get a 1st round pick after their own for Frawley) then this may change things a touch.

If the Saints obtain Jaksch via a trade or come to terms to pick him up at pick 1 in the PSD then they will go Petracca at pick 1 in the ND.

If Saints go Petracca then Dee's will go McCartin/Wright IMO.

I like Tom Lamb for our pick.

Better (surer) prospects at 11 IMO.

What are people's thoughts on Billy Evans? Big bodied inside mid with tidy skills, could be good with a 2nd, preferably 3rd.

One I hope slides to our 2nd is Connor Blakely.

I like Evans.

Me too.

In fact I'd love another 2nd round pick in this draft. There's a lot of good talent around the 20-40 mark. Anderson, Evans, Blakely, Garlett, Rose, Smith etc.

Which Smith?

We're singing from the same hymn book. If we can get two of Anderson, Garlett, Menadue and Evans on top of our first-rounder, I'll be stoked.

Clem. A little untidy in defence but I like him as a small forward.

Amen!

Oh yeah, I like Clem as well. Reckon he'll drop a long way, possibly third round.

Great teammate but his kicking lets him down.

Yeah, but there's so much to like about the rest of his game. hits like Byron Pickett. Small forward is where I'd play him. Jake King as mentor and small defenders will be quaking in their boots.

What do you reckon about Billy Evans, Scoop?

1960's Name. Need more of them. Strong starting point. Sounds like a thug who worked on the docks in Port Melbourne.

But this Billy Evans, I like him a lot. Great size, hard at the contest, brutal style, tackles like a savage. Neat with the ball without being damaging. Clearance footballers at 187cm are the current flavour of the month, TAC team of the year, Vic Country onballer its a pretty compiling pace.

Think we can get him with a third round pick. Not sure he goes much higher. But if we went pace & class with our first then two genuine onballers I'd be stoked.

Pickett, Ahern, Laverde/ Blakely, Miller, Jordan De Goey (hear he is dropping into the second round, would take very happily.)/ Billy Evans type with pick 3. Something like that mix.
