2014 draft

We are likely to finish just on top of Melbourne so they can *smile* off tiger supporters even more by pushing us down one more pick,Ggrr to these boring *smile* unfulfilling late season unimpressive wins, first we get the prize for most disappointing season (like we need yet another one),then we will get pick 9,10' but the suffering has been like a pick1 or 2 season.

Even worse. Carlton copped a much tougher draw because they beat us and finished in the top 6...
Carlton St Kilda

Sydney Swans Carlton

Carlton North Melbourne

Fremantle Carlton

Carlton Gold Coast Suns

Carlton Geelong Cats

Port Adelaide Carlton

Carlton Essendon

Those buttheads will be lucky to win another game, while we will win a few more meaning that lost finals game last year gifted Carlton pick 5 in a good draft.

so well win the last 8 and finish 9th. that'll give us pick 9 yeah?

trade TV for a top 10 pick (Dogs, Brisbane, Saints, GWS)

so now we got pick 9 and pick 5.

trade 9, 5 and Ellis (stocks rising) to gws for Jeremy Cameron and 3

so now we got JC and 3

Take jarred pickett (saints and lions have to go KPF with 1 and 2) with 3

so now we got JC and JP and all our worries are, hypothetically, over.

ambitious? very. whats the point of aiming low in a July hypothetical?

I like it, but lets take Petracca or Brayshaw rather than Pickett

The enormous hole in that plan is who would give us a top 10 pick for Vickery? The way he's played this year we'd be lucky to get a 2nd rounder for him and don't forget he's still under contract to Richmond, so we'd probably have to sweeten the deal by paying a large whack of his contract, which winds up on our cap. There are serious doubts on Cameron going around at present, the latest theory is that he's playing hurt.

Every year they say this now. When was the last time you heard of a draft running deep? Maybe 2008?

2011 was known to be a deep draft at the time.

Looks very shallow draft

My impression is the opposite, seems quite deep but light on for absolute top end talent. Would be good to trade into the second round

Yep, this years draft is light on but wait til the 2019 draft! What a cracker that one will be......

It's shallow for potential All Australians IMO. It's really deep for guys that can be that 5-15th player in a finals side.

Agree, Scoop. I want five top 40 picks, with one of them being a second top 20 choice.

I agree with you. Every year they say the draft is shallow and then add on that next year's will be a ripper, only when it comes around it's supposedly a poor one.

Yep

This is the year to trade a top 10 pick for 2 picks between 12 and 25. Arguably the most even top 25 in the history of the draft.

Some clubs believe they will get their No.1 pick between pick 10 and 20.

Agreed. Two picks in the teens would be far better in this draft than a pick between 5-10 IMO. Problem is with Mundy re-signing I don't think any clubs will have two picks in the teens, except GC, but they'll probably be around 10 and 15, and I can't see them trading both for a slightly higher pick.

Our best bet is to trade someone like Vickery to get into the teens, while keeping our first.
