"2009 Official PRE Draft thread'

Tiger Mad takes Travis Tuck and Sam Butler...sorry it took me a few minutes, getting harder and harder to find players on his list, I doubt it will last much longer.

Jarrod Harbrow - WB - good ordinary goal-kicking benchwarmer.

I thought he was joking when I rang him to tell him it was his pick and his wife answered the phone and I could hear him going through that mantra in the background (while she told me he is "busy"). :hihi

And it always answers your name King Julian - which is why I keep asking, because, although I bask in your glory sire, it is such an absurd answer............

gimme a few minutes, I'm still getting over the answer again today

Since it was a present from you oh King Julian, perhaps it is one of those voice activated digital photo frames?

Anyhow, enough frivolity sire...................

I'll select a big lump of a lad who I think will get to play most of 2009 (mainly cos Knighter said it would happen). If he's half as tough as his dad, that'll do me...

Jay Neagle - could be handy if one of my talls go down with an injury

Struggles with his weight big time, loosing not gaining and is very unfit for a AFL player, good luck.

Seems to be able to play though, so there is hope, if he can cut his weight and then build it back with muscle rather than puppy fat, then get some fitness he could be very handy.

If he can get over his shoulder injuries,he could be a handful for defenders.

Sean Rusling[coll]

Much better prospect than Jay Neagle ;D

Good pickup skipper.
Agreed. Has had a shocking run with his shoulder but is a promising young talent for the Pies if he can hold together. :pop

He's a interesting one Rusling, not sure what to make of him. He has a great sprint/lead and mark, which suggests yes he could be a good forward. But in footy today you need to be good below your knees/at ground level if not that tall (he is only 190cm) and he is shocking in that area. Doesn't really win/hunt the footy other than on leads or exert defensive pressure in his zone.

Not convinced he isn't a one trick pony, if so, he will get found out.

EDIT: Just looking him up some more, there are some signs his defensive pressure was improving, but you have to worry about his lack of games played. He has played 6, 5, 6 and 1 in 2008. Hasn't he done the shoulder twice?

Well the biggest drawback for the kid is he plays for the filth. :hihi :hihi :hihi

Clint Bartram - Melb

A excellent debut 2006. Injury ridden 2007. But back again in 2008.

A very good interchange, if not full, time flanker.

Good pick, 6th in the b&f

Yeah Bartram was a good one, despite having a solid year, he is another one of those young players if this was done in his debut year (06 i think) he would gave gone higher...as Phantom would say...I wonder how good he is though, playing in such a poor side. >:D

He was gutted by injuries in 07, so good to see him follow up last season.

Very solid pick for this deep in the draft.
