Sort of agree with you on age but only for estabished players. The probability of a 20yo (non ruck) who has not made established himself in the AFL coming good in a second club is so low it is better to take any draft pick under 50 instead. AFL is a little different to Baseball.

That was my point - that Baseball is different to footy means you shouldn't drop Moneyball into a sentence for the perception that you know everything. Moneyball has little to do with drafting per se. It is about finding value in a player the market deems not valuable

Maybe once free agency starts....

And trading/drafting for recycled 20yo who have not established themselves and statistically have shown they are unlikley to has nothing to moneyball, I would think it is exactly what money ball is about. It just the null hypothesis of finding value in what the market deems not valuable.

Supposedly had intent to sell this time. He was released on bail, and arrested again this afternoon.

What are you doing Cuzzy? :(

My understanding is that he had a quantity which is inferred by law as being a trafficable quantity.

Cousins charged

Apparantly Benny has been charged in relation to drugs. Hope its not right.

It really is a sad tale - a very intelligent bloke with amazing athletic ability and football skills, good looking, popular, great sense of humour, strong and supportive family, world could be his oyster. Yet despite all this he can't shake his demons.

Honestly, what's the bloke doing in Perth. I know there's drugs everywhere but he's sitting in that fish tank where he did all his past using. I'm over him. The bloke's a *smile*. Dud. Delist.

With many regrets in life *smiled* up a brilliant footy career, embarrased and tormented his family and lost his sweetheart. Yep had everything.

Whats next in this sordid tale? It's heading towards a sad ending. Has lost the plot big time.

Well said.
Isn't the first person to lose the plot on drugs. Ice is an evil that will increasingly rip apart sections of the Australian community and everyone from kids to paramedics, innocent bystanders etc, will be affected. Evil stuff.

Going by what the Hun wrote, the report just doesn't sound solid.

He's smart enough to realise he has a family, he's attending rehab., and now in daylight, he holds a huge supply for methamphetamines in an airport of all places??

PerthNow newspaper says someone called 'Dan' saw him shake hands with 2 blokes at the airport, and that some Tiger players visited him (maybe during the Freo game) and stated he didn't look well.

Not so worried about Ben from a Richmond POV any more - he's an addict who we helped as much as we could. Only minor concern is that he mentored our kids.
Majorly dissapointed that this comes out on the eve of our round 1 clash though despite the most likely defense that he didn't plan it that way. Drugs usually come first for Benny (my opinion).

Will be the first time he actually faces court despite a prolonged and very public addiction. Maybe it's for the best.

yeah. Maybe the slammer will be good for him, or save his life at least. Maybe.

Just heard it was 4 grams. Thats not dealing amount, thats a week for a big user with a few mates.

Trouble is, if the allegedlys are accurate, he was about to check in to a drug rehab clinic and had the drugs hidden internally. Not a good place to share with mates.
