Average is better than poor

If he'd been average, then we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Cousins has picked up, but his start to the year was poor, or well below average, just for you.

It's great he's found some form, but it smacks of a player giving his all desperately trying for one last contract.

ln your opinion

Just as an aside, What if his name was Joel Bowden??
Thought he was playing better footy than the Cuz when tapped on the shoulder..

Disagree 110%

Bowden was playing old school stop and prop football that in the modern day was allowing the opposition to get back and flood
Cousins may be slowing up, but he's constantly blocking for team mates and releasing our players into space by drawing their opponent towards him. He is playing 100% selfless football which is still perfectly suited to today's game. He is constantly trying to create and while Bowden had high stats on meters gained, he was still a culprit of sideways football and a lot of his long kicks were just to a contest.

Completely different styles of players, just cause Cousins is slowing at his older age, doesn't mean he's becoming a liability like Bowden was

Bowden made costly errors under no pressure whereas Cuz doesn't.

After today's performance, I'm sure that the coaches can see 1 more year of Cuz to be on the cards.

Again, another week that Cousins is a monty to be in the best five and people still slagging.

24 touches @ %75 and a goal. All he can do is keep playing good footy.

If one of his biggest critics Robert Walls can admit he’s playing well and you can’t, then it would suggest than your dislike of Ben is personal and not about football.

So? Did he not say that he would play every game has if it was his last and enjoy every minute of it. Shouldn't every player give it all even if they have a 3 yr contract.

In a lot of people's opinions monty. I think you've forgotten how much media speculation there was mid year that he was finished.
Plenty of opinions that he's not finished tooth man.

If the first part of the season is indicative of him giving it his all and playing as if it's his last, then he definitely won't be at Richmond next year.

Either Cousins is very adept at responding to pressure about his future, or he suddenly realised the end of his career may not be the coasting trip he expected. Either way, he's playing good footy now, where he wasn't before.

Are you seriously comparing a cheap receiver (Bowden) to Cuz who wins his own footy and sets up plays?
I remember Bowdens last game when the players couldnt give a :police: thats how much they thought of him.

I don't think he expected this year to be a coasting trip!
He did say at least twice that I heard on Nova “ don’t write me off until I can string some games together”. Early on the year with illness / injuries /suspension, he was not doing that. Which let to Robert Walls and others calling for his retirement.
He started to improve after the Port game and has only missed 1 game since then. His form has now been good due to his game time and his body being managed very well by the club. I hear he has back issues which is being managed. For a 32 yr old who supposed to have dodgy hamstrings , he’s doing OK !

I would suggest you're wrong Dusty. It's not personal at all and my opinion is based entirely on Ben's football.
