I reckon he's got as much hope of winning 6 JDs in 4 years as he has of winning back to back premierships in 2010-2011. We'll check back and compare notes in 3 years time. ;)

Your negative darksider attitude is wearing thin. ;D

I think you and momentai need to get a room. ;D

I'm enjoying your reaction almost as much as the thought of Run Benny Run.

I am only warming up and there's been no word yet we are even going to draft him.

I can just imagine the powers that be at the RFC sitting in their Punt Rd offices reading BF, PRE, OOTT, OER, etc having a great laugh at our expense.

Bastards. ;D

Just getting in early.

I've pre-empted a Wiki entry for Cousins in 2013.

Ben Cousins, after nearly two years out of the game due to an alleged drug addiction, was controversially selected by the Richmond Football Club with the last pick in the 2008 Pre Season draft after moving injured defender Graham Polak on to the rookie list.

At the time the decision received a mixed reaction with Richmond Football Club supporters generally supportive but with rival clubs opposing the move claiming Richmond should not have been permitted to move Polak. However, after successful lobbying from Cousins’ Manager Ricky Nixon and then Players Association President Brendan Gale, AFL Chief Executive Andrew Demetriou confirmed the unusual drafting scenario would be allowed under AFL rules.

It was unforseen at the time but Cousins would go on to play 82 games for the Richmond Football Club between 2009 and 2012 playing an instrumental role in the Tigers back to back Premierships of 2010 and 2011. Injury eventually forced Cousins into retirement but not before he became a Tiger fan favourite.

Where's Toby Craxton-Hicks when you need him....?

I was just pondering should the Richmond football club have all the sanctions and penalties that West Coast had hanging over them, placed upon them should Richmond draft Cousins? The Richmond football club is looking at Cousins as a quick fix to their problems and not the fact that he is a drug addict and needs constant rehabilitation which to mine, is a fight he is not really winning, the club is looking at Cousins from a selfish point of view and must be made to take the good with the bad, I remember all the negativity towards West Coast and Cousins last year coming from this site, but now he is being paraded as the messiah, not the naughty boy he has been, what has really changed? I personally love the bloke as a footballer and from all my involvement he is a good bloke and in a perfect world, he would come back, probably at West Coast and have a good 3 years of footy and overcome any demons he has, but this ain't a fairytale and when it comes to drugs, bad *smile* happens, good people lie, good people cheat and good people just *smile* on their closest friends, family and allies. 15 other clubs looked at him and turned away, West Coast despite fan petitions, media support, the senior coach and his senior assistant and major powerbrokers of the club trying to sway the club to redraft Cousins, the board who most would consider Cousins a friend, still denied what 90% of the staff and supporters of West Coast wanted, why? Iwish the best for himself, his family and friends and any other family throughout the country, hell, even the world that has to go through the *smile*, Claw and me have watched a friend go through this *smile* for 15 years and they have been panded to,been let off or gotten off everything that they have done wrong cause of the addiction, in some cases they have been rewarded much like Cousins has.

If we got any sanctions it would probably mean we wouldn't get a pick until about 100 in the 2011 draft... :p

Surely getting him would only mean losing him if anything went wrong?

I'm sick of reading posts were people make assumptions. How do you know he's a drug addict now? How do you know it's a fight he isn't winning?

::)

Sad but most of what you say is true.
We can only hope Cousins is an exception at his new club because it looks like he's coming regardless.

lol how do we know.hmm it wouldnt be because he owned up to it.how do we know its a fight he isnt winning simple failure to complete a drug test the company he continues to keep and many other instances the least of which i have posted here.

it is really hilarious to see all the ferals doing backflips over cousins. a week ago all and sundry were putting the slipper into him and his former club. he was someone elses problem. now it looks like he may be a tiger all is forgiven, bloody sheep thats what the supporters are sheep. they act just like the club chopping and changing and failing to stick with a program as soon as the going gets tough.

anyway for wahat its worth i hope cousins plays well for us if we take him. at 31 with an abused body and father time already cating up with him hes had lots of soft tissue issues at the back end of his career the club had better milk every last drop out him quickly because he wont last long..

finally for all those who think he will be a leader.the eagles came down on him and the drug issue only became a problem when the drugs started affecting his work ethic. he was turning up to training like a dried up prune when he did decide to turn up at all..

anyway keep it up feral sheep its funny to watch the somersaults.

I certainly am not in favour of picking Cousins up but it is that club that you hold in such high esteem that allowed Ben to get to that state!

He owned up to be a drug addict, so does that still make him a drug addict? I don't think so. What many other instances, who's the company he keeps?

he will always be a drug addict you just dont get it. you dont just flick a switch and hey presto your cured. cousins own actions clearly show hes nowhere near off drugs and under control of his addiction. as for your other questions where have you been mate you live in a cave or somthing.
