maybe we could be the somkey or carlton could do a massive u-turn, for some reason i can not see cousins not playing afl.this is a strong gut feeling i have had for a while. if he dosent play i also for some reason expect a big can of worms to be unleashed upon the afl and also some leagl action might be taken against the afl. it has all the ingreideients of this brewing into one massive stoush, and the afl might end up with not only egg on their face but also the chicken as well

I though jackson was quoted as saying we would be picking a kid with our last pick. Just getting a few down to training to asess them better.

No way in hell is BC linking with us.......and if he does I will be a non-cheerer (is there such a word) but a supporter.

Poor old Captn Blood would fair dinmkum turn in his grave if that disrespectul druggie turned out in the yellow and black.

Bring Cousins to RFC !

If we can't handle the spotlight then we won't be good enough to bring home what counts most. He IS the best remaining player available, by far.

In response, Hawthorn president Jeff Kennett said he was "tired" of suggestions clubs were responsible for player welfare.

"Ben made a choice at some time in his life to use drugs. He was not a child, but an adult. His family, club, AFL was not able to help him, nor was Ben prepared to help himself," he told the Herald Sun.

For once I agree with Jeff.

Ben made a choice now he has to live with it.

Tough Sh!t

Longer article giving more of Kennett's response here:

And yes this is probably the first time I've ever supported Kennett fully. Patrick Smith has also just said much the same thing on SEN, that the AFL is not a clinic and people should stop regarding it as such. The game owes Cousins nothing.

pippa what a name . shes typical of all establishment types and social engineeers . not one thought about people taking responsibility for their own actions. oh no its always someone elses fault its typical of society today and shrinks like her are a big part of the problem.

I just switched it on channel ten and that beautiful darling of the news desk Helen Kapalos read out "And the tigers may throw a lifeline to Ben Cousins"!!!!!!

Would I take him? Ofcousre...we wont lose a major sponsor if we do so, because we dont have one.

If he can come on and off the bench and rotate with deledio and cotchin why not?

*smile* Smith?

Is he a Cuzzy fan??

I thought with the news & cameras watching his every move (in our jumper with their logo on it) sponsors would love him at the Tigers.

So next time he gets sprung passed out in a gutter after a face full of crack, we just need to make sure he's wearing the *smile* Smith logo. Maybe we can tattoo it on him so that he doesn't have to worry about it next time he gets thrown in a cop car with no shirt on.

;D

Mr Spin sounded strict this morning on SEN in not drafting Cuz........but who knows.

"Meanwhile, Tigers football manager Craig Cameron slammed the door shut on recruiting fallen star Ben Cousins, saying 'we won't be taking him in the pre-season draft' on December 16."
