Re: Ben Cousins in trouble again

Leave him on the other side of the country. That is always the best place for the cousins you hate.

Re: Ben Cousins in trouble again

We need midfielders.

By then things would have cooled down.

Let's not forget the Carey thingomajig, people forgive, people make mistakes, we don't crucify them for life.

Re: Ben Cousins in trouble again

People we along with 15 other clubs would chase Ben Cousins if he became available , its every recruiting officers job to chase class players like Ben Cousins no end , sure the guy has off field problems but by god he still puts in consistant 1st class performances on field too , with him beiing a disruptive influence over in WA , the Eagles might want to cut their losses like the Bears did with Acker , we have to start somewhere so lets start the ball rolling and say how about we package something together that includes WA boy Mark Coughlan and see how we go, at the end of the day it cant be disputed that Cousins is all class and every club need class players .

Cousins is interested let's say, his management have flown over, it's in every paper in the land that Cousins has been hypnotised by Greg Miller's smooth talking.

What can we trade?????
First of all he would be the best midfielder at the club since your name sake, hes 28,do's he have the desire after reaching the ultimate goal?

Plenty will disagree but say he checks out an is keen to play for US an only if we are a much improved side this year(pushing top 4),an in a realistic chance of making the Grand Final next year then I think he may be worth a crack at,cause we all know we wont have too many elite midfielders even then.To what you would have to give up for him,gee who knows ,I garuntee there will be plenty chasing no matter what he's done an I hate to say but Cogs would be nothing more then a sweetner

Re: Ben Cousins in trouble again

Oh gee if Ben was on the market, Greg would turn around to Frank and they would know what each other would be thinking.

No hesitation from the RFC to chase Ben, if & when the time comes, we'll see.

As far as Cousins goes I'd grab him for sure. He'd be a bargain-like Fev was.

But I'm sure most will post 'we don't want him here!'

So you'd take a punt and bring all this baggage to Richmond? Brave to sign that deal.

We need midfielders but not the culture he brings with it.
West Coast are doing what they are for a reason..

Re: Ben Cousins in trouble again

We're only just starting to see some fruit of our rebuilding program. Another batch of quality kids in this year's draft is crucial to continue the job. Cousins will cost at least 2 first round picks. No thanks.

Bloody oath I'd chase him if the price is right.

His 'baggage' makes him value.

Interesting I didn't hear these objections of 'culture' a few months ago....

I take your point, but i don't think he'd be as expensive as you think.Anyway,it's speculation for august. He's an eagle till then.

Re: Ben Cousins in trouble again

I don't care how good he is, their is no way i would want the RFC to give up 2 first round pics, if it was Judd yeah, only 23...but not a guy who would come at 29 and give us maybe 2 years of great service, no thanx....any chance of getting him in the PSD for nothing, oh im a cheeky bugger.

Re: Ben Cousins in trouble again

His misdemeanour is of one of the highest order in the AFL, quite frankly a drug is a drug is a drug.

Drink drive, you bloody idiot, Schulz, Ottens :hihi, remember.

We have forgiven haven't we, but we know love it when Schulz comes steaming out of square, no one remembers his issues, because we have forgotten.

Spot on. Some are fairly selective in our moral vaules at PRE.

Fev, no. Polak, yes, Cousins maybe. Fev has the best moral vaules of all of them.

We have already set the precedent on this. If the price was right we would take him.

Re: Ben Cousins in trouble again

I reckon its a bloody greek tradegedy.....(bugger my shpelling)
Ive just had a decko at Cuz,s C.V......
pretty impressive.....brownlow Medallist,best and fairest.......blah...blahh....
my point?
When one is a FOOTYFAN,you come to admire and be in awe of certain players footy talents...and Cuz fits into this......
And....Bang.......it all goes down the gurgler....why?
I wonder if Judds rise had something to do with it?
Chuck in the gardner thing.....spinning out over a break-up with his missus.......and then the 3 times and youre out drug policy.......
The press have been ALL OVER THIS ,so the mystery around those anonymous players has been 1/3rd solved today I guess......
I hope the pussycatkitty fans arent baggin out cuz....because of one famous past players track record.......
and a born again christian to boot......didnt work in the end eh!
Nah...sorry Im a spoilsport but I find the cuz thing really sad...cause HE can play and its a bugger of a waste......
I hope he gets his *smile* together real quick for his OWN sake.......... :'(

Key phrase being 'the price is right'.

We didn't know the extent of his 'culture' a few months ago.

Whilst we don't know the whole story, footballer or not I wouldn't employ anyone with a drug addiction if that's indeed what he has. Do so at your own risk.

If indeed Benny's on a downward spiral being a high profile footballer won't save him or do any good for those around him either.
