Thanks for all your work running it bullus. Very enjoyable.
Yep, well done @bullus_hit ta muchly.

GWS:
1. Cadman
17. Keeler
20. Hotton
21. Allan
33. Clarke
54. McCallum
55. Rowston

Got the key forward we were after and a forward/ruck with limitless potential to complement him. Plenty of pace and x-factor with Hotton and Clarke, Allan could be anything, McCallum has potential as a third tall and Rowston was an excellent value addition to our midfield stocks. If Madden had got through as a rookie we would have clocked it but as is pretty happy with our haul.

Do we get a prize if these picks match at least 80% in the real draft? :))
Prizes will be awarded in 4 years time, this has been a cracker of a draft in terms of the evenness & relative depth of the tall stocks. There will be surprises I feel, right down to the 3rd & 4th round.

I’ve cut this about eight times. There’s nothing you can do to speed up Norths bid.

It’s the most vanilla list ever. You can play it safe and go two mids. They need a key forward. Cadman was the pick.

2. George Wardlaw 182cm 82cm. Had a rotten year luck wise, COVID, concussion and repeat hamstrings after never having had soft tissue problems before. There's been talk of him being Clayton Oliver like. I do think that the ability to get handball out of traffic is Oliver like. He raises his hands above his waste so well. And like Oliver, handbells at all sorts of crazy angles but that's the end of the Clayton-like calls for me. He is 7cm shorter. For me, he is the second coming of Luke Parker. Exactly the same size, the same attack on the ball, the same hint of wanting to bury you, and the same kicking action that isn't super smooth but it super effective. Wardlaw just competes like a madman at the stoppage, second or third efforts in the contest, and then when it gets to the outside he's trying to get back involved. Look at the way he competes against the Collingwood VFL side. Watch the first ten seconds and you will see the quick hands, the clean pickup the perfect unload, and then he is the first one tackling. That snippet is enough for me. But watch the rest, this is against men, he has time with the ball, and he weaves through traffic. And when he hits the contest, they stay hit. There is almost Joel Selwood-like attributes. You see more of it when he plays TAC. If it wasn't for the lack of footy (COVID and a concussion aren't major red flag but would have limited his output severely), the hammy he'd be close to Ashcroft.

Put him next to LDU, Symkin, Tarryn Thomas, a fit Cunnington, hopefully Will Phillips shows why he was pick 3 and Tom Powell and you've got an ok mix of onballers. The Roos are also already stacked with young on-ballers, using their past six top-13 draft picks on midfielders, that's why I'd go this lad with the next pick

As the article states "The Roos are also already stacked with young on-ballers, using their past six top-13 draft picks on midfielders", I did toy with Jhye Clark here, he is net on my board but in the end that glut of mids is why I'd go this lad with the next pick..

3. Harry Shezzel.

Read the below, it sums up everything perfectly. And remember he lead the TAC goal kicking with 36. He is a weapon forward of center. North needs this desperately. He can easily be Connor Rozzee. I thought of going another mid but North have zero weapons in the front half.

And now watch the entire package on display.

Both are risky but North needs stars. Forward of center, they are so vanilla. These two could be elite, not core footballers but multiple All-Australian players.
Finally got around to my first twp picks right up.... will do the Harry Barnett /Cooper Harvey write-ups tonight.

Hawks are pretty happy with their draft haul.

Mids in Syzbkowski, Dowling and Phillipou. Good sizes and all will play footy in 2023. Good additions to a midfield of Worpel, Ward, McDonald, Newcombe and Stephens. Phillipou probably started on a HFF.

Teal as a rebounding half back, may not play too much in 2023, with players like Day, Hardwick, Scrimshaw and Impey preferred but a good option.

Van Es as a developing tall defender, who they should be aiming to take over from Frost and partner DGB for the next 5-10 years.

Lovelock who could be one of the better players in the draft. If he was 185cm instead of 178cm then he potentially goes top 20.

Magor who will add additional depth on the HFF, which is probably one of the areas they are in most need of.

I did want to get a tall forward as they only really have Lewis and Koschitzke but that will need to fall into next years draft.

Unlucky to not be selected maybe the rookie draft.

Jackson Broadbent. Darcy Edmends,Ben Hempel,Seth Campbell,Tyrell Dewar (Eagles nga) Callum Verell,Archie Lovelock,Jakob Anderson,Oscar Murdoch,Harvey Gallagher,Jason Gilbee,Harry Cole.

I think their might be some reasonable rookies around .

Special mention to Tom Bower who might be a late pick, but probably a rookie chance,lm sure Nathan would of been in Benny's ear about him.

I think Lovelock snuck in. How do you rate Gilbee's kicking? I strongly considered him at 68, fantastic athletic profile, the kicking efficiency my main concern.

He's alright ,not elite by any standards ,but he can hit a target , and can get a bit o distance if he goes long.l think he would eventually make a decent wing man ,but is versatile
No Lovelock missed, and he looks quite good for a late 18 year old .

Not sure about Gallagher. He was expected to maybe get picked up in last years mid season draft but the knock on him was that he was too outside and gathered too many cheap possessions. He needs to toughen up a bit. There’s a very bad example of his lack of attack on the ball in the 1st quarter of VC v VM. He pulls out and drops what he should have taken.

Big possessions late in the year for Bendigo but needs to step up the physical side of his game.

Great effort well done @bullus_hit

Adelaide Crows
#36 - Max Micahalanney
#57 - Adam D'Aloia
#58 - Will Verall

Late picks but all players fill a list need and now its time for them all to learn the Richmond song

I think Barnett is every chance to be the best of the SA talls for the simple fact he can take a heavy contested mark with guys jumping into his back. I like forwards who are prepared to take a knock. His duality by being able to play KPF and Ruck also helps.

Keeler more athletic and Lemmey maybe more a “natural” talent, but I like Barnett for the aforementioned.

I see him more of a high hf ,he does have good endurance, and is quite a clever player, and uses the ball well, yeah he is a bit outside ,l think he would make a reasonable rookie..
He is a top age player though, which l personally wouldn't take until they prove themselves at VFL level.
Tom Bower l like more though,l thought he gave it a decent crack once he played Nab cup.

I picked Lovelock for the Hawks. Pick 63
Stuff the Hawks  ,l hope he becomes a Tiger,,he's a good player ,who got better as the year went.
He starred in the SANFL u18 grand final, and played a couple of decent reserve matches, also played well at the champs.
