PRE 2022 Phantom Draft

Pick 65 Fremantle select Marlin Corbett. 189cm 82kg midfielder/ winger. Suns Academy/ Surfers Paradise

Hard working, defensive minded, dual sided mid. Big leap and big tank. Does everything well, trademark is quick handballs out of congestion to team mates in space, and long, low, accurate kicks out of the back half or into the forward line. Played wing for the first time in the champs where his 2 way running stood out. Same was true for GCS VFL in an 8 game winning streak, including finals.

Very happy to have him at Freo. Little bit of David Mundy hopefully.

@Dev Tiger up next for the dons.

Doggies looking to find a Stef Martin replacement so will pull a shifty & nab GWS academy ruck Nick Madden, at 204cm & 114kg he'll need to strip down a bit but these dimensions are very similar to Sean Darcy who was also carrying some extra pounds. Madden's kicking technique is pretty good for a big man, his speed not so great but for a ruck I don't think this will be an issue. Looks to be a punisher like Mumford, I reckon the chances of an AFL career pretty good.

At 69 Essendon select Jovan Petric 196cm, 87kg key forward.

We thought about Baynen Lowe a 176cm small forward from Norwood out of Devonport. We hope someone takes a punt on him. He has been all in on his AFL dream since he was a five year old and won't leave anything in the tank if he gets a chance. He might suit The Saints under Ross Lyon.

We were hoping he'd get through to the rookie draft.

I'm a fan, he'd be the ideal rookie. Super competitive. Good size, reminds me of Tom Sparrow.
He would be a bargain get as a rookie,he would be the ideal small forward tagger, at AFL level ,he reads the play really well

What's up? Freo pass

32 Jed Hagan, 43 Lloyd Johnston, 65 Marlin Corbett. We'll sit pat and assess the list in advance of the RD.

That'e why I mentioned Sparrow, that's the role I see him playing at AFL level, forward pressure but more physical than pace based. He showed a bit at the champs, his attack on the ball was so strong, he shifted the momentum with his defensive efforts.

I was thinking more of a HB.
