With only 7 sleeps to go, its time for our christmas poll.

Who would you take at 9, assuming all these blokes are on the board?

I know there will be people saying 'no chance, he will have gone at 3 ... etc", but Ive just picked blokes that the media and PRE have thrown up as our main options and as a HYPOTHETICAL, who would you take if you had your finger on the button, and these four blokes were on the table?

I'd go Grundy, O'Rourke, Garner, Vlastuin in that order

Grundy, but it is not exactly an insightful poll if he is taken early.

From the few youtube videos I have watched, I really like Mayes.

Or O'Rourke who will definitely go before us.

I went Grundy if he was available.

Otherwise I think I would prefer Macrae over the rest.

Always take the talented tall first.

Provided he meets all the criteria.
1. Has the mobility to play around the ground, as well as centre bounce tap outs.
2. Can average more than 5 marks a game.
3. Has the versatility to play as a genuine marking / goal-kicking forward.
4. Kicks and handballs accurately.

look at our junior guys

we could play Rance full back, Astbury CHB and Grimes as third tall defender (what a luxury)

up front we have man monsters Griffiths Elton and Vickery

That leaves us needing a ruck like Grundy who is best available and suits needs: a great tapman and also moves around the ground and marks the footy

We've got a great bunch of mids: Cotchin Martin Dea Batch Conca Helbig (gun) Ohanlon Ellis Arnott and we can get a few more in the 2nd round.

Well said Phantom, from what I have seen of BG

1. Very agile and an exceptionally crafty tap man
2. Think he averaged 4 in the champs?
3. Averaged 2 goals a game in the champs
4. His efficiency numbers look good.

PLUS, has an I Maric-like desire to whack his monster frame into blokes. Fingers crossed.

From the snippets seen and read Grundy sounds like an ideal proposition.
Two or three years of learning and developing as the understudy to Eevan and T.V. As Eevan fades out we have two mobile ruck forwards precisely positioned to fill our needs for another ten years.
Recent changes to ruck rules and interchange / sub rules wipes the old lumbering or crash n bash types. Ruckmen need to be genuine footballers more than ever.
