Where Should Team 20 Be Located?

Where Should Team 20 Be Located?

  • The Top End, playing out of Darwin/Alice Springs/Cairns?

  • 3rd Team in WA?

  • 3rd Team in SA?

  • Canberra

  • Sunshine Coast

  • Murray/Riverina Region, perhaps based out of Albury/Wodonga?

  • Other (please list)

  • No to a 20th team, but a merger to reduce teams back to 18

  • Cheese Sandwich

  • New Zealand

I voted for Geelong to merged with Gold Coast.

They combine 'Cats' with 'Suns' to become The C *smile* s

and they play out of Nauru on a gigantic perfectly circular coral quay,

and they all surf the lagoon entrance every evening while a lamb spit roasts on the beach

and Tom Stewart gets speared through the eyeball by a swordfish.

Ireland, they seem to produce AFL quality players ,more so than the NT

I was actually hoping in the fantasy that the sword fish penetrated well beyond the eyeball,

But yes, its a long drive from fantasy to reality
 
Got to be the top end for me - so much good will to be garnered to ignore. The creation gods would bless us.

Not worried about the talent levels. In the 1950s and 60s Melbourne had less than half the population it does today and ran a comp of 12 teams. Admittedly some of the footballers couldn't bend over to tie their own shoe laces - but the competitive aspect of the game was just fine. If we can't run a decent comp of 20 teams with a catchment of over 25 million I'll go he.

Agree, the talent isn't a problem. By trimming lists back a little you can make a team and a half without changing a thing.

I'd go a team based in Perth but playing games in the Top End as well. West Coast has 40 million in the bank and the best stadium in the country so it makes sense to set another one up there.

Alternatively I still like the concept of TBR's Barbarians for the 20th spot.

Giants should've been from Canberra from the start.

They like their AFL in Canberra and Manuka is a great place to watch sport.
