Now that team 19 has been confirmed, i have little doubt we will expand to 20 teams not long after (i think 19 teams is the perfect number, but the AFL won't agree). So where should it be based?

Gill's backyard.
He's got a 3 acre block in Prahran.

The Prahran Polos.

Out
Duffle coats and Beanies.
In
Tweed jackets and Berets.

And Grange for every new member!

I reckon the list tells us the options are limited.

Darwin would only work if they had a indoor stadium with AC, but would retention be an issue?

I like the idea of the Murray/Riverina region, but I'm not sure if its practical due to population. Maybe They can split games with a Canberra team?

WA seems to be the only realistic option.

I have added merger, NZ cheese sanga options.

If we're to have 20, then the romantic's choice would be Darwin. But a realists choice might be a third in WA

N T Population is only about 250k, I seriously doubt that would be sufficient to support an AFL team.

Yeh it’s just too consistently hot and humid up here. It was 33 today with about 40% humidity and it’s cooler than it has been. I can’t see a team wanting to stay here consistently.

Darwin doesn't have even close to the population needed to support a team unfortunately.

They are worried about Hobart not having enough people and it's about twice as big as Darwin.

I'd still go for the merger option, too many Victorian teams. Fraught issue though, wouldn't want to see my team merged.

You know, I've always thought there was a much easier way to solve the problem of Fitzroy losing their football club and name.

Simple question: what is more important - the name of the capital city of Queensland or the continued existence of the Fitzroy Football Club? The answer is obvious along with the solution, rename Brisbane and call it Fitzroy, no-one will care.
