Welcome Tom Brown

This kid needs to come on. Flossy getting closer to the end. Watching Van Rooyen play well for Melbourne makes me a little envious

I read this thread and some others like it and wonder why some seem to want to bag our kids. He is a Richmond player.
I hope we cut him a bit of slack this weekend as well, he hasn't played for 3 months

We looked over a 'Brereton like Foward' to pick this kid up.
Hartley & Clarke better hope Brown iisn’t another Fiora over Pavlich cases.
Nothing against the kid.
But why would you use a quality pick (17) on a half back flanker when you know Riewoldt is coming to the end in a couple of years?
Riewoldt retires Van Hooganband takes his spot for the next 10 yrs.
The kids on the site were all over him leading up to the 21 draft and for some unknown reason Clarke & Co make choices that bamboozle.
Our track record is disgraceful. It's coming up to the 10yr anniversary of our last quality 1st rounder Rioli in 2015.
The 5 in 30 is looking like a huge bust. Besides Cibcus none of the others look like they will survive.
Have a read through the 2021 draft thread. Kids on here have better knowledge of the kids then these blokes who are getting paid. It's not good enough.
With Cotch, Jack, Nakas, Grimes all on coming to an end. We had enough picks(35) between 2017-2022 to rejuvenate the list. They have made a meal of it.Screenshot_20230603_081909_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20230603_080707_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20230603_080647_Chrome.jpg

Because we didn't so why go on and on and on and on about it? It is over and it is done. Now please support our Richmond player, it is almost like you want him to fail

"Besides Cibcus none of the others look like they will survive." is just a crazy statement.
It is way too early to make any call on Brown, Banks, Clarke and Sonsie.

I'm calling you Mr Hyperbole from now on.

Tom is Playing in the VFL this week. Good luck! Hopefully he can show why we were so keen.
Had a long spell, not many come back and blitz it first week.
Will likely be tentative at times
Probably expectations are of an ok game.

Hopefully he has spent the past 8 weeks running.
Meehan said as much several weeks ago saying that hes been able to do a lot of running in his rehab. Then again the club said the same thing about Dusty late last year - they said they were keeping him in cotton wool and getting plenty of miles in the legs, come finals time he looked so far off the pace it was embarrassing that he was even selected

Well he’s right. Probably goes in about it because questions need to be asked internally about why we neglected a glaring list need for a player whose position is rather easily covered and recruitable for.

And it’s not the first time. It’s foolhardy and negligent.

om of our drafting decisions makes me wonder if Terry Wallace is still at the club

So ask the question. Don’t post about it on a fan site 700 times over and over again.

This is the Tom Brown thread, it is supposed to be about Tom Brown not Peter Vanden Hoogenband or anyone else who somebody thinks should have been picked instead of him.

Poor kid. Pretty clear that he is this decades draft whipping boy, like Conca and Tambling before him. Try to remember that Brown had no say in where and when he was drafted.

Critics get too hung up on individual picks and fail to see the big picture. Gibcus, Clarke and Sonsie could all go on to play 200+ games and all we’ll hear around here is “but why didn’t we take Van Rooyen?!?!!” The critics will also ignore the fact that most other clubs also passed on Van Rooyen at least once too.

A large part of recruiting is a lottery and nobody wins the lottery every time they play. However just like in a lottery, you only need to win big once to offset a lot of losses.

Anyway, give the kid a chance and even if he doesn’t make it, it’s not the end of the world.

Yeah that's OK. Missed out on a kid that will dominate in 5 yrs time to get a half back flanker.
They couldn't spot talent even if walked past them
