Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

looks really tired and hasn't done much the last few weeks but he is probably our best at actually pressuring rioli aside

I honestly cannot see two smalls coming in against the Cats when they are a Tall Side.

Smith, Blicavs, Lonergan, Taylor, Hawkins, Henderson, Buzza, Kolodjashnij and Mackie all over 192 cm, also a chance they may have Stanley as well.

He needs to go out for Griffiths who is finding form, otherwise our forward line will be rebound city. We must have another marking target deep and also dispense with the idiocy of Grigg being back-up ruck. Geelong will feast off this and the tiny tots RFC FL again.

I reckon the coaches see our small forwards as a bit of a pressure net. If George goes - which I think is unlikely - he'll be replaced by a like-for-like speedster IMO. But I think they'll stick with him purely because he's more physically built for finals than Shai or Ty.

I think our coaches have forgotten what a contested mark deep forward looks like. But they haven't down in the VFL side though: Lennon, Griffiths, Elton, Moore, Hampson. Still the surest and simplest way to get a goal.

Meanwhile flog Carlisle took a lazy 8.

I think he's on the chopping block. Big week in the VFL. If Griffiths goes well, there's a decision to make. Caddy will be back too. Towner has to stay. Interesting times....bloody good times in fact!

While nobody is at 100% right now, his strengths and team role depend on his physical traits more than most. A week's rest could make the world the difference for this type of player.

Keep him in the team.

Since his Suns game (and RS nomination) he's had 11, 3, 8 and 4 disposals (26) for a total score of 0.1.

They're not great numbers are they TT?

Can't say I was looking out for George at the game yesterday but I certainly didn't notice him too much

He's had a lot of faith shown in him, but he still isn't providing enough for the team to keep his spot, IMO. I would drop him for Caddy. Tough call since he has basically played all year but I think it's the right decision

I believe he has only had 4 contested possessions in that time. It's fine to be a pressure beast but you have to also give a bit more offensively as a forward. Will be interesting to see if he keeps his spot.

I saw a couple of nice things from George, not enough admittedly, but I think if someone has to make way for Caddy it will be Markov. George would only be dropped if we were thinking of using Shai in the QF.

He's lucky he is part of our forward line pressure cooker system so will probably get another go. Turning in sub-Morris like numbers for a month.

He did have that nice 2-3 bounce run to give J-Town an assist.

Thought at the game and when i watched the first half of the replay (will watch the 2nd half tonight) that he had a lot of balls kicked on his head, he competed well in the air and brought the ball to ground which was good but didn't get involved enough offensively. When he did he was great, 4 disposals, 4 score involvements and 2 goal assists. I think he's the one in the forward line getting some poor delivery to him but as I said yesterday, I thought his defensive efforts at the ground were good, hoping he can start getting a bit more of the ball when he's at his strengths and thats out in space.

I don't think he's lucky to be part of it, his defensive work is a big part of our forward line pressure, not that others are saving him.

Agree.

He also kicks for goal like ol' Flappy.

I can understand why he's in every week but he'd want to get better at kicking clutch goals fast. Goals are hard to come by in finals, we can't afford him missing any more sodas.

Was very poor the previous week with only 5 pressure acts, 1 tackle and 2 contested. He is doing the minimum required for our game plan defensively atm which is probably just saving him but he needs to pull his finger out and get more offensive as we have some good competition for that position.

I don't think he did the minimum yesterday, the ball didn't fall for him offensively but he was good defensively. Agree about last week he was poor.

Did anyone notice how many times Saints defenders threw the ball onto the boot quickly yesterday? It's implied pressure, and it's a big part of our success this year. These defenders know there's 3 super quick tacklers nearby, and George brings the physicality as his point of diff. His numbers without the ball suggest he's contributing well defensively. I'd prefer the other two to be having a ping at the goals TBH. I'd keep him in.
