Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

I'd play Lennon to help Caddy with that second marking target. Thought Josh looked cooked on the weekend. He played CHF, ruck and rotated on the ball. Massive work load that I'm not sure any one else in the AFL played on the weekend.

Keep the mozzies, drop Edwards, play Lennon. Edwards isn't a mozzie and doesn't provide marking help. Lennon and Caddy your quasi second forward. Judge them as that.

If the pressure valve drops, yeah we change (personnel, if not game plan), because the scoreboard impact is already down. The match committee will cop a couple fewer goals if we're still getting the turnovers and repeat opportunities.

And they still got 5 (forgot $hai's) of our 11 goals between them. If they share 4 goals a week and harrass the bejesus out of the bad guys, we have to be happy with that, don't we?

Yeah it really is a collective score card isn't it?

Getting games into juniors with upside, while team playing well enough to be in a winning position most games.
No longer playing Hunt, Morris, Maric, Batchelor types.

I find that I forward to each game again.
There is not a team that I think we cant beat (and be beaten by).

Enjoying the ride.

Every time this year we've caused 28 or more forward half turnovers, we've won, and every time we haven't, we've lost. The Mozkateers© are the game plan.

George is not getting dropped.

Watched the replay and reckon it was George's best game for the club so won't be dropped. A ways to go before I am sold on him though.

No way his best game, he was much more potent early in the season but certainly nowhere near his worst game. Had for example 20 disposals, 2 goals 4 behinds, goal assist, tackles and 20+ pressure acts in round 1 against Carlton.

Aargh! round 1, so long ago I forgot, yep easily eclipses Sunday's game. It was just I was starting to line him up to be dropped but thought he was good on the weekend.

Yep he's been walking that tight rope for sure. It's not easy though to find space with 4 similar forward line players running around with you. Consistency as a HFF is difficult at the best of times.

Liam Jones was too quick for our forwards early in the first quarter. He got a couple of intercept marks. By taking front position from behind. That is very bad.

George went to full forward. Deep forward anyway. From there he got on the gallop and torched Liam Jones on the lead. (I think he had Marchbank prior. Or the other spuddier spud Plowman.) Late in the quarter, after losing Jones on the lead, George played on around him. More *smile* off to Jones. Kicked the goal. Jones is by far their best defender - already. That rattled them.

George is not like Rioli or Butler. He can play tall much better than the others. He's also much better at collisions, particularly in the air. He just doesn't do this stuff often enough yet.

George is on target for 25 goals. He'll outstrip that if he can get on the lead more. Must get another stint at full forward.

yes, Jack.

commented earlier, his physique is very impressive. as much a unit as someone that quick and evasive has a right to be.

has some very good traits indeed.

How does it work with poaching/trading for players on the rookie list of another club? Is it any different to a primary list player?

I think its been done before - was it Josh Jenkins when he was a rookie with the Bombers?

solid point Mr D. shifting george deep and jack further out was a positive short-term move.
he adds an alternate feature in the forward landscape. seems to have replaced lloyd role as the short lead-up, which he has done semi-frequently this year. and sprayed too frequently. kick the goal.

Will soon be found out, and sat on by a speedy defender..... good send him deep. And switch with caddy/martin who will out-strength their speed.

Some good discussion on George these last 4-5 pages. Plenty of positives, funny how willo not spotted?

BTW he had a 3rd goal stolen by lambert when advantage paid after a George tackle won a free 20 out almost directly in front.
