Welcome to Tigerland - Callum Moore

I didn’t think his set shots were that bad. Good distance and pretty straight. Just needs to learn how to line them up and he should be ok.

His ball drop is poor, way too much hang time. Has improved somewhat from his junior days but still prone to shanking.

If we get the GF forward line back out on the park with Moore in place of Towner ,

We are exceptionally quick and with the 2018 George and caddy in place of the 2017 versions ,

Strong in the air .

If Cal keeps improving, it would be a seriously hard decision between him and towner in Sept.

Pace v Pain

If Our midfield stAys fit and we have the luxury of caddy i50, i'd go with Pain, but if we need caddy in the middle, i reckon I'd go Pace

Yeah, the drop isn’t text book, but his missed shots last night didn’t look like shanks. They looked like he connected nicely but his aim was off.

Anyway, did well last night and it will be good to see him play when Jack is back to his best

Thought the same, has a similar ball drop to Jack and doesn’t look to guide it onto his boot. More of a high drop

No Lever to motivate Townsend. :smash

Pay that one, TBH. Like it.

But Towner is not all that discriminatory. Just sees target - and hits it! Has other favourites too ... like Dees' Nathan Jones. Hope they 'bump into' each other again.

In spite of his goal kicking which is dicey I have liked the inclusion of a second tall target. He's a very good overhead mark & has good pace & recovery skills. Has slotted in well IMO & is a clear upgrade on Townsend's early season form.

Caddy and George were awful last year. Seymour has already improved substantially so he may not have peaked yet.

That’s a good point , is his goal kicking as bad as George’s from last year ?
I don’t think it is , so there is hope .

How do you see it playing out?

Cal Moore is showing really positive signs. Signs that he could even play a role similar to what an aging Riewoldt is currently. Maybe not to Jack's degree yet as he's super smart but he is aging..
If you did manage to snare say Tom Lynch then it becomes a really interesting set up. A set up that could position us for the next 5 years.
The list managers would also be asking themselves if Chol can make the grade? With Callum Jones & Balta also in development there are plenty of options coming through. It's a great place to be. It's why I've floated whether Jack R might be an option to head elsewhere at season's end. We will need to start bringing these kids through. It'll also free up some cap space if we're looking to bring Lynch in.

Yeh, great for the culture. Lets move Jack on whilst we r in a at least a 3 year premiership window. Let's do a straight swap for Lynch, I'm sure Jack would love to play at the GC.

Reckon Jack would be salivating at the prospect of Lynch being the main target and he could take a more roaming HF role. I think he would end up leading the league in GA if he played higher up the ground. (or maybe 2nd to shed).

Chickens don't always hatch though. TV, Griff, McJesus, McKenzie... we thought we had a dynasty there, too. Even Elton and Gourdis had their fans here early on, and Moore is a similar athletic type with question marks. :spin

There are no guarantees about anything TBH. We're far from certainties to get Lynch either. Just floating ideas really.
Jack R is contracted for 2019 anyway so any move would need to be agreed to by him. Another premiership this season might open his mind to the idea.
Obviously we're not just going to shaft him.

Loved Seymour's work rate so far, he forces the ball to ground when he can't mark it. I think we might end up going with the two talls as the season pans out, the spot is his to lose.

I think Dimma said after the Essendon game what I said after the St Kilda game, that Callum needed to become frenetic in his chasing and tackling as just like Riewoldt it's not a natural instinct so must become a mindset. He has the elite speed and agility to not only be the 2nd tall we are after but a pressure forward that the coaches demand.
