Welcome to the Tigers Nathan Broad

Bit of a slow start to the season, but seems to be coming into his own.
Without Rance all the defenders have had to modify their games and take on different/further responsibilities.
Like others, reckon he is becoming a pretty vital component of the backline.

He keeps improving every year. If that continues he’ll be in AA conversations in a couple of years.

not everyone held that view

I did. I thought he was a goner. Completely wrong. Now creating play and trusting his feet. Courageous and Quick too and runs all day. Almost a reverse of Ellis in terms of form over time. .

I'm a massive Nathan Broad fan.
Same here. Along with Grimes and Vlastuin, he can play both small and tall. That's at the heart of team defence, the ability to curb whoever's closest in moments of extreme pressure ... and to hand over to another defender, knowing they can cover for you. Honestly, I scratch my head when people talk about Broad vs Short, or Broad vs Garthwaite, as if they are like for like. It's not about individuals, it's about roles. And a guy like Broad can fill several roles – and drift between them – during the course of a match, and indeed during the course of a single passage of play. Few others can fill as many roles. For the coach and selectors, that's pure gold ... gold they can reliably bank every week.

He was as good as any when he played on Franklin.

Yes - worst game since debut. Panicked & then lost confidence
Ain’t his fault, headless chooks all around him and with a non existent midfield the ball was pinging in all around him.

Asked to play outside his capability but disposal is your own responsibility.

Just watched the replay again.

Have always said his ball use is average.Change that to deplorable.
