Welcome to the Tigers Nathan Broad

Has Broady been arrested yet for his heinous crime??

F@#!# Me
Not yet, but do not be surprised if he is referred to the courts for the crime he committed.
Could get 10 years jail or even the death sentence, given he is a Richmond player.

Nothing surer than Broady getting 4.
He is going to cost the club big time for a very stupid moment.

If Broad gets as many weeks as the Geelong sniper last year, I’ll throw up. But we all know he will… He’s gonna cop the Richmond loading.
Just out of curiosity.
If Texas Wanker had dumped Broady on his head. How many weeks do ya think we'd all be screamin for Texas to cop?

Personally don't want Broady to cop any weeks, coz he's one of ours. But it won't surprise me to see him get 4 so only 3 would be a bonus.

Reckon the conversation would have moved to general agreement on the death penalty by now, with which method would cause the most pain now being hotly debated, as well as how Geelong were implicated in the crime.

What's the max suspension somebody has gotten for a sling tackle? He shouldn't be given any more than that.

Yes, illegal, violent execution of a potentially legal act if done within the rules. Same as Broad.
When is an elbow to the head potentially legal?

it like arguing punching someone in the head is potentially legal, if you dont punch them in the head.

The best thing Richmond can do is go to the tribunal and plead guilty. Broad can say he knew immediately the tackle went too far, he didn't mean for that to happen, he apologised immediately, felt awful etc, he knows that needs to be removed from the game but unfortunately it takes time to change instinctive play. The hearing could be over in 15 minutes and he will cop 3-4 but no extras for wasting everyone's time. The media will report that he owned it and Broad, and the club, won't look like the dicks that Adelaide did last week. The media will move on to the next incident.

isn't David King calling for 6? I know he's always overdramatic, but FFS.

Classic case of trial by media.

They all want 4 as a minimum.

This is what I find frustrating with the system as it stands.

From incident to the actual hearing, the process takes way too long. This gives the media time to get themselves into an escalation loop as pundits compete with each other for attention, creating a narrative that is extremely difficult for a publicity machine like the AFL to go against.

It would be naive to think that the outcome of these sorts of hearings isn't impacted by perceived public opinion - that's why in the judicial system there are very clear rules around what can and can't be discussed about open cases.

Putting aside discussion about what Broad actually deserves, I think that the longer the gap between incident and hearing, the less likely it will be that a player will receive the minimum penalty. And that's both wrong, and completely unnecessary in a world where instantaneous communication is the norm.

Justice delayed is justice denied!

It was Dion's height that was at fault not Tom's action or judgement.

Exactly what happened to Houli. It was the media that drove the ‘manifestly inadequate’ arguement. AFL were a joke on the Houli one, we just have to wait and see how they react to media pressure tonight. I’m not expecting a fair and just result.

A bump is the potentially legal part. If Stewart had of just taken Prestia's line and bumped him, enough to stop him running on to link but not enough to even put him down that would have been perfectly fine, in the same way Broad could have stopped his tackle and been fine.

Unfortunately for whatever reason they both went well beyond the realms of what was legal, safe and acceptable.

I felt was pretty respectful to you, but you go for a childish snipe. Classy.

That's how you know you are winning. ;)

Classic response; mock, sneer, attack and never make an argument deeper than it just is!

He’ll get 4 at a minimum. Trial by media have already determined that. not excusing Broads action but Umpire should have blown the whistle earlier and Broad would have let go before dumping him.
