Welcome to the Tigers Nathan Broad

Exactly.

You don't tackle someone by picking them up and slamming their head into the ground either. But a tackle is the right action in that situation, he just did it badly.

In the same way a block is the right action for Stewart in that situation, he just did it badly as well.
Did Stewart slow down in his attempt to 'body check' Dion? No. He launched at him. His intention was to run through him. Job done.

There are those in the media asking for 6 weeks. What stinks about the whole thing is the way the AFL goes about it. Last week both Kosi and the Adelaide player charged opponents, because the Adelaide player’s opponent wound up being concussed, he got sent to the tribunal and got 3 weeks. Pickett’s opponent didn’t leave the ground and he got 2 for an incident that deserved 4 minimum. This week Broad’s opponent gets concussed and they’re throwing 6 weeks around. In the Collingwood Port game there was an almost identical incident, but no concussion so the player involved gets a shorter sentence if any at all. It shouldn’t be the injury that results, but the potential to cause an injury. Boils my *smile*!

The media are all over this and headlining that he should get 4 weeks.
Sure, he should get something for that tackle, but the media are trying their best to crucify him.

No case to answer........FMD. Guy was knocked out and taken out of a Grand Final. What about the consequence being taken into account and double penalty for Grand Finals?

If Broad gets 4wks Dangerfield should have got 8.

Hypocrites like Wankley *smile* me when they pick and choose when to take the high moral ground.

Anyone expecting any resemblance to consistency from the AFL will be very disappointed.

Marlion Pickett bumped a Hawthorn player last year who jumped up and kept playing, yet Marlion got suspended.

Tom Stewart lined up and knocked out Prestia, no free but they had to penalise him - 4 weeks.

Dangerfield knocks out Vlastuin, not even cited even though the rules are crystal clear that it should have been sent to the tribunal.

Pickett from Melbourne jumps into a player's head, 2 weeks.

Broad, sling tackle. Yep, silly, but happens a number of times in every game. Will he get the same as Stewart who ran past the ball and elbowed Prestia in the face? Maybe, but he should get 3 and Melbourne Pickett's penalty was clearly inadequate.

F**cken joke the AFL.

One of the great mysteries. 'Good bloke' though Danger.

Not as good a bloke as Bachar whose suspension the AFL determined for the first time in history was manifestly inadequate.

The sooner Gilligan departs, and Benny takes over the better.
