Welcome to the Tigers - Daniel Rioli

Athletically crippled. No explosiveness or power. Can’t cut through traffic, can’t lay those crunching tackles.

Really worried about his physical capabilities.
yeah looks slow. doesn't have his usual quick movement in traffic and intensity when chasing. injured or unfit?

Clocked in at a lazy 32.8km/h which was the fastest of any player on the ground. Also had 18 total sprint efforts which was 5th most of any player on the ground along with 24 pressure acts which was second only behind Graham.

Just sayin’.

Where did you get the top speed and sprint effort data from - is it publicly available?

Interesting. They are impressive stats - most likely he's stuffed every time he gets near the ball. Get's games on that performance easily.

Just goes to show that you can't see everything watching on TV. Live at the ground you can see the work he and george do which is why they are first picked.

theres what you see and data. The two don’t add up. Trust the data. But he’s just not impacting.

There was a passage of play on Saturday that typifies Rioli's role and how he often works hard for 'no impact'.

We won the ball back in D50 and transferred play across the backline. You can see Danny there in D50, left half-back, if they need to use him. They don't, so off he takes up the wing to get to the next contest. He's not needed there, so he keeps running up the left flank. We switch the ball back across the ground and when we enter from the right flank you can see Danny 30 out from goal. So, he's run down to defence to provide cover and an option, then sprinted 120 metres up the wing, clearing out space whenever he's not needed. But he's an entitled bludger coach's pet and any teenager could do that.

There was a couple of times where had run with another player and not used when he would have been a good option, once by higgins and once by lambert

So hard to see that on the TV, thanks.

Ellis used to cop it on here for the same reason. No surprise that gold coast are good this year.

He never gets a lot of the ball but when he does, he's capable of the ridiculous and its only a matter of time. The whole team has been down but it feels like there building.

Hasn’t played a good game all year. Some very generous with praise for his game last week. Is giving us absolutely nothing. Looks like he’s not even trying.
