Really i was at training on Friday and he is the skinniest kid i have seen on an AFL list.
Must have been wearing lead undies ;D
Is he skinnier than Jughead Bourke? If he is he will need tent pegs to stop him from taking off in the rubbish swirl.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

I think skinnier than bourke , but in saying that was quick and used the ball well in all the drills
Fingers crossed he can put on weight

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Being skinny isn't a problem.

Just stick him on a wing until he puts on weight.

That's how Robert Murphy started.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

There's a lot of Murphy about Menadue. It's a good comparison.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Let's hope he goes back for second's tomorrow and tackles the leftovers as well .

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

I agree with Phantom. Put him on the wing when he is ready. He has to be a better option then Grigg.

And Michael Roach

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

He put on 2 kg's in his first couple weeks and that was through intense training in the heat.

If he has the speed and skills, he may well get games if he shows good form in the VFL.

He kicked 4 goals in a game in the TAC Cup this year & was named in the best 9 times out of 16 games.

Kayne Turner is a skinny little thing and played some good games for North Melbourne in the latter part of the season after playing good VFL footy.

If Turner can do it, then so can Menadue.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Yes i agree, if you can play you can play... Especially on the wing, if hes good enough he should play regardless of weight!! Agree on Flower and other skinny players... David Rhys Jones also!!

I'd wait a bit
Tambling was rag dolled a bit when he first started, just grabbed by the jumper slung around and thrown away
Other issues but this didn't give him any extra confidence about playing with the big boys

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

His kicking action has a little of the Nigel Lappin about it . If he turns out half as good I'll be rapt Lappin was one of the most important parts to the great Lions machine .

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Watched him closely today to see what some of the hype was about.
All I can say is wow. Looks ready to play round 1.
Quick not just without the ball but with it too.
Makes very good decisions and stuck a tackle of Maric which belied his grasshopper body.
Might have got lucky with this one..
