Welcome to Richmond - Jayden Short

Don’t like him playing in midfield feel he’s rushed and butchers the ball
His previous role was a HBF running out of the backline and kicking it into forward 50 which he did very well

I would consider trading him now when we can command a higher price.
He isn't a midfielder and I think Rioli is better then him at half back
His kicking isn't as good as the media make it out to be.

Continues to escape scrutiny. Has been very poor. The best looking worst kick in the comp by far. Couldn’t hit a target to save himself. Just bombs it and hopes for best.

The most overrated player on our list.

Spud Frawley was a good bloke and tough footballer. Shorty needs to pull the finger out before he becomes Spud Shortie. Gets the ball and kicks in hope. Very poor composure!

After a good start to his midfield career he has been very ordinary lately.

Rushes his disposals way too much, dump kicks it anywhere and is too weak around the contest. Isn't running to receive and not zipping in and around packs like he did in his first few midfield games.

Disappointing really as I had high hopes he would make it as a mid.

Yeh his kicking is long. And that’s about it. He panics when under any sort of pressure. Yet his fans rave about him being elite. Doesn’t hit enough targets.

Certainly regressing after an initial promising move into the midfield.

Old fella behind Leysy kept saying give it to Shorty he's our best kick. Said to his shock early on, he's far from it and to watch him.

By end of game he was in full agreeance.

His old habits are back.

A long kick doesn't make you a good kick. Look at Chimper.

He took a mark 52 out in the last. With STAND he could have lined it up, run to the side of the statue on the mark and kicked from 51. He can kick the ball 65. He kicked it backwards. We were behind. What is he afraid of?

Yeah that makes zero sense. Player lacking in confidence. Why didn’t someone tell him?

Is not a midfielder. Has been a makeshift mid. Has done ok. Sometimes not so good. Only highlights that we need to start taking the drafting of mids seriously.

Unfortunately he is a momentum killer. For someone touted as a good kick he sure sprays the important ones.

I think he is a mid, but he's batting too high atm. Should be our third best mid at the most. Would probably be fifth best in a top 5 team.

One thing that irritated me was Short was off the ground 2 or 3 times under the blood rule for the gash over his eye.
Why didn’t the medicos just put a bandage around his noggin?

Played out of position Shorty is a running HB that kicks the ball into our forward 50

So if he isn't working out as a mid do we try to squeeze him onto our now overcrowded backline? Who makes way? Rioli? Baker?
Along with all of our tall backs there's no room for him in defence any more.

Can he play as a pressure forward and snap goals? Not sure, perhaps it's worth a crack.

But for mine, he's not a good midfielder, not sure he makes it as a small forward and we have a plethora of backs, therefore he should be trade bait at seasons end and will hopefully net us a late first rounder.
