Welcome to Richmond Chris Yarran

Yeah I'm a little concerned too. He apparently left the track early earlier in the week and missed Friday's open training due to an "illness". Hopefully they're just being careful and will unveil him at 100% later in the preseason.

Away with some mysterious illness for a while then comes back with calf troubles n soreness. Dud delist, time to pull the finger out n step up or it's back to Carlscum for Yazz. Waste of an early draft pick already.

watched last years round 1 game against Carlton again last night and kept an eye out for Yarran - he has some serious speed and skill in a team that was thrashed from early in the second onwards - I think I have underestimated what he will bring to the team.

Plenty of time for him to get himself right before rd 1 and I am going to love the reaction of the blue bagger supporters every time he run rings around his old team mates

Starting to get very concerned that Yazzy can't get on the track.
I heard that he is getting back now and will be ramping it up over the next few weeks. NAB 2 even NAB 3 is the earliest we will see him.

From the medical report on the site that shall not be named it sounds like Yarran's at long odds for the season opener. I'd rather he take the time needed than rush back for the NAB games. He'll be of more use to us in the season proper rather than the largely meaningless pre season stuff.

Pick 19 is cursed...

The Ox has had his say on Yazz today. Meant to post here earlier but accidentally put it on Journos board twice.

I was worried way back in '15 from what I heard from a long-time Blues supporter with inside info, but put this aside to support the club's obvious belief in Yarran. Now I'm worried again.

Just my thoughts, but this sounds like a club approved spray. The club probably felt a good old fashioned public needling would shame him into action.

That said he does look to be a few kgs overweight and he did look in pretty bad condition when he arrived.

Seems like Yarran is a way "off the pace" at the moment.
Might be a bit more time before this selection/recruitment pays dividends.

Pretty poor from Chris. He did his hammy in his last game for the blues so would have been left to his own devices until we got him so not a great scenario. However he should have been doing everything possible to present in the best condition he could, which he clearly didn't. So now he will have to hack and battle his way through the season trying to build some decent fitness whilst managing a body that is sore and battered most of the time from games. Sadly it is very hard to get fit and recover at the same time.
He almost needs to spend the next 2 weeks just getting fit in his own little boot camp, not worry about ball work, just get fit. It is a bit like cramming for exams, but with how close the season is it is probably his only hope

Cut the bloke some slack he is injured..!

Yes, fine. He deserves some slack perhaps. It's a matter of what his attitude is, frankly. After what RFC went through and gave up to obtain him, and the belief they have shown, he should be doing everything he can to get into his best playing condition.

If he doesn't get cracking, the likes of Conca, CEllis, Menadue and Castagna could tie down a place in the team that could have been his. He will be simply overtaken. From there it's not far to hacksville.

The inside info relayed to me by my Bluebagger acquaintance was all about attitude and application. Little doubting his abilities.

Not too worried. Lots of Indigenous players seem to put on a bit of conditioning in the off-season ( get on the turtle).

He'll be fine.
