Not sure if anyone else has said this but while I have the same misgivings about him as most on here, he is one player we have with some pace and seeing Oleg continue a gradual improvement, makes me think we should keep him for another year if the offers are not great.
Would be interesting to see how Yze uses him, and also whether Yze's interest in kicking coaching can have an impact.
I can't agree with that. The thing with Markov was he was always a nice kick, Hugo, not so much.
kicking always looks good when the player has space between his opponents. collingwood more often kick it short or in space.I can't agree with that.
Markov used to spray them at Tigerland, and to a lesser extent also at the Suns.
That was always the knock.
He was an elite runner, and a tough bugger for his frame, with tons of go in him.
I have been surprised by his improved kicking at the Pies.
Credit to whoever's been working with him on that.
Yep, like lots of left footers he was a pretty but not very effective kick early doors but sure has improved.
Greg Tivendale?Left footers? Who are you talking about? Both HRS and Markov are right footers
Hugo doesnt like hitting bodies.I would try him as the hard running pressure fwd. Think George and Mcreary from the pies.
Agreed.not physical enough for me
I'd have Cumberland, Bauer, Lynch, Martin, Kozi, Clarke, Moju, Bolton, Coulthard, Baker, Campbell, Ryan,,Gibcus, and Mansell all in the forward line ahead of Hugo.Hugo has a good leap on him, I'd have him in the fwd line ahead of Maurice
None of them can run like hugo. Not saying he'll make it but one thing we need more of is players that can run at neck speed into our open fwd line on a quick counter attack. Something Collingwood did all year with the likes of mcreary and hill and made them hard to defend.I'd have Cumberland, Bauer, Lynch, Martin, Kozi, Clarke, Moju, Bolton, Coulthard, Baker, Campbell, Ryan,,Gibcus, and Mansell all in the forward line ahead of Hugo.
I here what ya saying H!!None of them can run like hugo. Not saying he'll make it but one thing we need more of is players that can run at neck speed into our open fwd line on a quick counter attack. Something Collingwood did all year with the likes of mcreary and hill and made them hard to defend.
Was drafted as a forward. Not sure he has it though.I would try him as the hard running pressure fwd. Think George and Mcreary from the pies.
