Welcome Ben Serpell - High Performance Manager

100 x 100's followed by holding bricks out and running with them above your head, 200 push ups, 200 sit ups, 1 hour circle work, 30 mins one on one comp work then 5klm time trial around Richmond to finish up.
Thats a decent morning session. Looking forward to seeing how they go in the arvo

Banks can join Dow in the gym. These guys just aren’t big/strong enough to go against the big boys from Lions, Cats, Blues.
I know running is the most important facet of football but it doesn’t mean you have to look like a WW2 POW to get that advantage.
Have a look at the photos of training on the club website.
Banks has some size about him and some good muscle definition.

I spoke to Banksy up close and personal the other day and I did notice that. Not sure what injury/surgery he has had to be put him in the 'NON CONTACT' category at training.

Maybe it’s just a case of train like you play?

Then to the Royal for a steak dinner and a dozen rehydrating beers.

Doing some drills now so can’t have been a serious operation.
Most likely a clean out

He seems to have been identified as a young leader Caesar. Did the press interview on day 1 and as someone noticed he sounded like Luke Hodge, that country boy drawl.

There was an off the cuff comment by McAuliffe on his video when he was watching it that he showed some leadership qualities.

Hope he can put it together on field !!

I have been and remain a sceptic on whether Banks makes it or not but I seriously believe Ben Serpell will demand more of our whole group and looking forward to his new philosophy and training regime. Serpell stated in his interview that it is going to be a learning curve for everyone.
Several players have mentioned already his mantra of speed/power surge/contest to contest fitness.
Banksy is a bit of a one paced runner, not slow not quick, some burst speed would help.
MCauliffe tested with speed but not shown it much in games, again burst speed training should be good for him hopefully.

Yes noticed that. I reckon Banks may be identified to take a half back role. He kicks really well but you are 100% correct it is that 5-10 metre burst he needs to develop.
