W10 v Dorks

The consistent poor over using of the footy throughout the season , especially the inability to adjust game style to the conditions and the poor style simply covered by the best player in the league makes me think in maybe time to have look at a new coach , yes his limited to a certain point with the skill level of the players , however I don’t see the improvement that should have come after so many seasons .

Some of our "good" players are unskilled. Sheerin is dodgy. Egan dodgy. Etc. Haven't really recruited for where the game is going.

Sheerin hangs on the the ball too long, needs to go first option, Egan is slow moving, and slow hand to foot. McKenzie can play, but bites off too much, she forgets what's around her. She's like early Shane Edwards, she goes to the right area, but there's not enough good players around her to capitalise.
Bacon & Ford will be better with game time, and so will Charley Ryan.
Greiser needs to get fitter.
The backs are OK, with Miller, Seymour, Graham & Lynch, but we lack run all over the park, apart from Conti.

This program needs an overhaul. Everyone looks a bit too comfortable to me.
It seems the evolution of the game has left us behind. Recruiting players who are really big and slow was for the early years of the comp. And our skill level is about the worst in the comp, truly awful. Our effort is the only thing that keeps us competitive.

our hand-balling lets us down

and when we had the breeze, why not just boot it towards goal ?
worked for the Dorks in the last and they ran away with it

4 Disposals 1 Kick 3 Handballs

Not good enough. Needs to be gone.

Can’t use the excuse of injuries this season. Excessive ineffective handballing and can’t hit targets by foot. A poor result after the H&A.

Yep. Waste of money. Trade or delist.

It remains the case that the skill levels need to improve. Too many fumbled marks, handballs to team-mates' feet etc. This has to be worked on as we could be top 4 if we can get the skills improvement which is clearly needed.

Hawthorn showed what skills can do. Accurate passes to team-mates in space.

As per usual we get umpired differently. The frees Hawthorn got were often quite soft, same thing happens to a Richmond player - no free. It is glaring and especially in the third quarter it was just free after free to Hawthorn. Any time we looked like getting a chance, they would stop it. That 50m penalty was technically there, but if you pay that one there were a couple of dozen more you should have paid. We need an explanation for the discrepancy in frees which affects both the men's and women's teams.

I watched a quarter with the TV on silent. The number of inexplicable frees the hawks got was bizarre.
