How the *smile* did he survive that hit from Franklin? Most players would be in hospital.

Thought Cotch's effort last night was tremendous but he needs help. Concerning the shortage of mids coming through.
Yeah he was fantastic. What a warrior. But yes the cupboard is bare for young mids. They are either not up to it or nowhere near ready to step up. That’s what happens when you don’t have access to the high end of the draft.

Yep. Got huge praise in the media this morning for not flopping as others usually do.

Chimp is our legend.

He may play on again next year, and hit 300 games if he does. The way he is playing (especially if we can keep him below 75% TOG) then he can easily take up another contract next year.

Has Corn Kanes given his opinion piece on Cotchin yet? That no doubt will be the definitive judgement on our Triple Premiership-winning captain.

Imagine if that was Dylan Shiel copping that hit. Be lay out on the ground waiting for the stretcher.
Imagine if it was Rodney, they'd stop the game for 40 minutes while they helicoptered in the paramedics, only for him to "bravely" return to the game in the last quarter and park himself at FF.

P.S - Chimp is made of the same stuff as Baker, and Captain America's Shield!

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick paid a glowing tribute to Cotchin during his post-match press conference.

“It was an unbelievable act, and it probably sums him up really. He was always going to go,” Hardwick said.

“People can look at kicks, marks and handballs, but you look at things like that, it’s what makes him the great player he is . . .

“It was a very solid hit. He did want to finish the game and contribute as well.”

Cotchin again was one of the Tigers’ best in last Friday night match, with a team-high 26 disposals, team-high 13 contested possessions, an equal team-high six clearances, four inside-50s, four tackles, two goal assists and seven score involvements.

Chimp was close to career-best agin Sydney.

Just awesome.

How's the way he cops one on the chin from Nance then fills the hole at HB knowing what's coming.

I loved the blood. Didn't you?

Our Chimp does not have the sprints of yore. That's one of the reasons we tire. We use him early.

We are using him offensively in the second quarter to stay in the game. In preeeemiership years the Chimp was central in the soak it up formations/plan in the second quarter. Now he attacks i the second.

We're playing different phases this year. As usual, based on what Cotchin does and when. When he does what he does is central to our game strategy.

He goes earlier because we're trying to pinch games in 2022. We're not good enough to be clinical. Good news - there's nothing around.
