Is there a stat for smashing in & forcing the ball forward?

there should be. because a lot of our surges forward start with El Capitano Cruncho going hard at it

The disparity between his demeanor off and on field is very similar to only one other person I can think of.

Clark Kent / Superman
More a Bruce Banner

Castagna's goal in the 3rd running into an open goal started with a shark tap from Cotch. He had 4 separate cracks at it, pushing the ball forward until it spits out with handballs to Jack and then George.
4 different contests for 4 hardball taps and 1 goal

Yup. Was a corker!

Watched the game again. It's amazing how many times Chimp can be seen in the frame. If he's not in the middle of the action you see him sprinting towards it.

I think his game on Friday night was severely under rated.

Thought the Skip set the standard early on Friday night, may not have had the greatest possession haul, however I though he was our best.

He's totally selfless. He'll work just as hard to block space in front of the 2nd opposition player away from a potential handball chain for them, as he will for a handball receive for us in the F50.

He is a huge reason it's become part of our culture.

Had a career-high pressure points, acc to Robbo.

With the Geelong game in the balance, each contest a decider my wife comes up with this astute observation - gee Cotchin's hair just doesn't get ruffled. I wonder what he uses for that holding power?

I had no response to that.

i reckon he played a very different game this week, in a midfield missing Prestia, Graham and Conca.
a lot of bottom of the pack play, and a lot of hard hits on opponents, especially Ablett.

while he prob wont get too many votes he was vitally important.

Just like Elvis in his movies in a bar brawl , hair stays perfect .

commentators will talk about disposal counts and how oppo stars have 30+
we play a direct game with low disposals. but the balance of pressure and defense is exemplified by Cotch
he was more influential than any geelong player
commentators cant get their heads around it and how we win.
