Training For Redemption in 2022

The hype-to-output ratio for Cumberland is pretty high, based mainly off a 5-goal (8 touch) VFL game. I think he's up against it to make it.
Not sure there is hype Spook. He has had 2 years at the club and the first one he didn’t play because of an acl. Took a while to get fit and then had a couple of games kicking multiple goals.
Based on that plenty felt we should at least have a look at him for another year which is what we have done

Feel compelled to say that would be a batshit crazy approach to managing an athlete.
Ok so Prestia says he is the best he has ever been and doesn't like missing sessions, so to be 2 weeks in rehab/conditioning he must have had some soreness or issue then if you reckon it wouldn't be a management issue.

To be fair, Prestia feeling the best he's ever felt for a preseason overall, and having a niggle or minor problem that had to be managed, are not mutually exclusive given his history.

All said, even with some minor issue, if best is true then best=best regardless of relativity, and he's played some damn good football off sub-best preseasons, so i'm excited!

Yes. Here is hoping that he has a Matthew Boyd type season from 2016 which ends in the same way.
Be awesome if he could retire with a 4th flag

Love the support but a couple of points to call out.

Chimp is 3 years younger than Boyd was in 2016 (and he played another year). Waaayyyy younger.

And yet another post suggesting the great man retires this year. He is one day difference in age to Dangerfield yet bet no-one suggesting he is close to the end mon Geelong forums.

Seems a lot are fait accompli the great Chimpanzee is on his last legs.

Leysy for one doesn't see it like that.

Not saying he will retire, but be a good call if we win the whole thing.

Being skipper of 3 flags as opposed to Dangers career, one would think his career would feel more complete, easing the transition, he also spoke numerous times (when much younger) about not wanting to go on to long, so im not surprised supporters think this could be his last season.

Like you and probably 99.9% of RFC fans i love this bloke and hope one day to shake his hand and tell him how much joy and happiness (as well as a ^%$* huge monkey off the back) he brought me, my kids and family in general.

FWIW IMO this bloke plays until he chooses to, completely up to him!

Training today Monday:

Only a 30 minute view as a parting gift as in who's there and who's not:
Grimes in rehab which I take as a good sign that leg injury not that bad after going down Thurs.
DRioli missing again.
Banks Graham Lynch Grimes Lambo all in Rehab as I leave training only 30 min in.
Prestia with main group.

All I can give you today, things to do.

Grimes actually doing some kick to kick with Lynchy and some jogging so I'd say all is pretty OK with him:clap2

Every training session Hugo misses easy targets:(
Yes watching the lad on RFC of his highlights...that most noticeable thing that stands out for me...is that he likes to wind up and bomb it long towards/for goals.

Looks like Cotchin will retire before the preseason is done. Disappointing.

Like Prestia, who went MIA and wasn’t seen training for a couple of weeks, it now appears after a stand out start to pre season, that DRioli has also disappeared from view.
Perhaps part of work load management means no outdoor running/contested type training whilst they work indoors on strength and conditioning whilst managing niggles?
Hope he’s back out there soon. I’m tipping a breakout year for him if he can get back out there without more disruption
