Training For Redemption in 2022

Yes Cumberland is a definite selection and I'd keep Miller and drop Gibcus personally and let Gibcus get some confidence in two's
We can't play all of Balta, Tarrant, Grimes and Miller down back though can we? Miller would have to play forward to keep his spot imo.

If Balta plays back not sure where that leaves Miller and Gibcus.
Maybe with Soldo back we go with the extra runner?
In Ross, Soldo
Out Miller, Gibcus, Aarts

Nank was spending a lot of time forward, Gibcus and Balta back.
I am thinking Gibcus, (shoulder is strapped), needs a spell in VFL his last 3 games have been poor.
Surprised how little Dusty did today, Lynch looking further along.
Soldo, Ross and Syd are back and look available for selection at whatever level they are chosen.
Soldo comes in to allow Nank to spend some time forward, (not sure that works it hasn't before).
Ross for Aarts should be a no brainer.
Not sure what small forward set up we go with, Baker didn't really work last week, need to crank up the pressure index regardless.

That's about it @AstuteTiger
Surely M.Rioli comes back in, he's the best pressure fwd we have

Yeah but JNR needs to learn to get some of the footy along with the pressure but am not against a recall, i'd play him midfield in the VFL whenever he is down at that level for fitness and the fact your goal has to be winning the ball.

Totally agree , but someone eluded to it do you think we're holding his offensive part of his game back and focusing more on pressure and tackling.

If he is going to be playing VFL then he needs to developed as a mid. Everytime he has gone into the midfield at VFL level he has impacted. Forget the small forward role.

No I don't think we are holding JNR back offensively that is the part of the game the coaches want him to improve and why he got dropped.
In watching him in his junior years MJ first priority was to sweat the man and not get the pill so they need to balance that out.

It’s a tough gig in the VFL for leading forward when they keep kicking it over his head
It sure is.
Personally I'd like to see Bauer named in the 22 as a specialist key forward.
Put players in their rightful position & you get results like Cumberland.
We've cycled through Gibcus, Balta & Soldo with little success. The makeshift key forward has not worked.
He won't be dealing with swirling hacked kicks at VFL level, he'll be under the roof & hopefully with players skillful enough to honour his leads.
Let's see what he's got. It's why he was recruited for exactly this.

Apologies for my naivety with training protocols, but does Captain's Run usually mean starting 22 plus emergencies only?

What about Sonsie and Hugo? I count one too many players in the 26-man squad vs last week.

In: Soldo M.Rioli Bauer Ross
Out: Gibcus Aarts Dow

Aarts was sub so he wasn't in the 22 last week so doesn't help with outs.

For me:

In: Ross, Bauer, MRJ
Out: Gibcus, Edwards, Dow

Edwards sub.

We can't possibly bring in Soldo and Bauer. I'd rather Bauer or Ryan.
