Training for DRAFT PICKS!!!!

Training today was just a health check for me.

Cotch does not look 100% to me, (still think he will play), has been managed the last 2 weeks. I know he does it quite a bit games too , but pretty much refused to kick on his right and used his left a lot.

KMac had a low load session so may being managed as well.

The above are only a slight watch for me but otherwise it is pretty much all systems go.

**Only thing I will say about training which I have mentioned before, I can't believe the skill level by both hand and foot of Samson Ryano_O

What about Bolton Caesar Salad. Did he get a kick today ? Will he get a game do you think ? :rotfl1

Popped by for a bit..... *smile* he's got long arms! (Well they looked long to me!)

Also...... If Eddie is playing for the blues.... he'll have to ask Bachar for his shorts back!

I can't get with a concussion or any injury sub. There are four players on the bench. They are reducing rotations to increase attrition, this suggestion flies in the face of that.

Imagine last year's prelim. Ebert knocks himself out with a few minutes to go and Port bring on a fresh road-runner who scorches our heavy legs to kick the winning goal. *smile* that.

Totally agree. The whole idea is *smile*. Play the cards you are dealt.

Teams will exploit it if it includes any injury.

*Oh, but he won't be able to play for 12 days if he's subbed off.*

You don't think teams will be willing to sit out their 22nd man for two weeks to gain an edge with a fit player late in a tight game? I have some swamp land to sell you.

Also: Basher took another small step, interrupted his rehab to participate in one non contact drill with the main group and got a few congratulatory welcome backs :clap2

Thanks once again caesar.

I'm feeling a bit for Shai though, he hasn't got a mention since Samson Ryan won your heart ;)

It should be concussion sub only as concussion is a “measurable” (with the test) and should be harder to fake......clubs will fake other injuries when it suits to get a fresh player on the ground.
By the way, is your land near the Ninety Mile Beach?

I would personally prefer to have it just as a concussion sub. People will use the Ablett example from the Granny, but they got him back out there, we couldn't get Vlastuin back out there.

If they do bring it in as an injury sub (or even the concussion sub), maybe the previso is that the sub can only be used in the 1st 3 quarters, and can't be activated in the 4th. Therefore stops the argument somewhat over a player coming on with only a handful of minutes left against tired opposition.

I get the importance to treat concussion properly and conservatively. Should be, and I thoguht was, completely in the hands of the doctors.

Therefore, whether a team is a man down for a game because of concussion (and compensating the affected team by allowing a sub) seems to me to be irrelevant to good concussion management practices. Again, because the management is or at least should be solely in the hands of the doctors.

If that premise is more or less accepted, then why should a team be compensated through the availability of a sub for one kind of serious injury but not another? Yes, there is always some grey but take a simple example of a player breaking a leg or doing an ACL - is it fair that there might be a sub for concussion but not those injuries?

As usual it seems to me that the AFL is making things up on the run in a reactionary and ill considered way.

If spook has swampland then someone must have tricked him into buying it in the first place.
Don't be silly. I got it the tradtional way. My ancestors murdered a few dozen blackfellas and put up a fence.

If they have to do it I'd make it first half (or at half time) only.

Captains Run Today:

The Cotch intrigue continues with non appearance today.

Out there in what I consider the emergencies and or 23rd man are:

Will Martyn
Ross
Marlion
Mabs

Late game hammy tightness to go through the roof.

Thanks caesar.

If Cotch doesn't play, I'd like to see Caddy and Mac on the wings, with Pickett in the midfield.
