Training For 2023

Samson Ryan will be the long term replacement for Nank IMO and is on a specifically structured plan to get there. There is a reason he was signed till the end of 2024 which requires some patience by all.
Should see a lot more of ruck 1st then forward in the VFL this year rather than the other way around.
As for Nank still provides the most around the ground and will continue to do so.
Loosing 1st tap won't be as vital with new midfield additions.
I don't see the Nank/Soldo combo happening often, am hoping Miller makes the relief ruck/fwd his own.
Post Nank i see a Ryan/Miller combination but if my some miracle Colina does come through then the
Ryan / Colina combination would be perfect with Miller plating the Jack of all trades role Fwd/Def/Ruck

I see Soldo leaving for more opportunity at the end of 2023/24 as a free agent end of 2024

That's been the concern with Miller from the get-go... he drops too many marks for a player his size.
Not really that much of a concern with the way we play if he is played foward really

Dusty , Bolton , Cumberland , MRj at his feet they will have a feast

Hearing narkle off HB I’m not sure bodes well for his chances , we have options spilling over there , I imagined if anything he’d be depth inside mid , cracking in and getting it . putting together bits and pieces , bradke wouldn’t surprise
We starr everyone off at half back.
See how we play and how to run loose ball

The Chief was a spud when it came to marking early on, but he was ultra reliable later on. Big guys can take time. He'll be fine.

Colina still 2-3 years away if at all. I suspect he might be insurance if Soldo leaves at the end of the year. If Sampson comes on this year the writing would be on the wall for Soldo and would need some insurance in the Ruck.

Makes sense, Narkle doesn’t have the attributes for HB (speed, good kick etc). Not to mention he couldn’t even run in the first group during the 2km TT so his endurance leaves plenty to be desired. Really hope we give Bradtke a shot to show his worth
Watching Narkle in match sim yesterday he didn’t really stand out. He was at times matched with Shai. Was ok but I don’t think he was working as hard as others. Shai makes most players look ordinary anyway. I feel he is not bringing anything special however he is relatively seasoned and has played at the level so maybe as an insurance.

Colina hasn't trained pre or post Christmas, he is not even in my dreams of making it and this point.

Yeh I wouldn’t be against it for some extra depth, but feel like if Bradtke is showing decent signs it’d be better to take a risk on a key forward

Yeah, not sure modern day AFL footy suits 7 foot lumberers. But here’s hoping.

Is it too late to take him off the list to create another list spot and then take both Sparkle and Bradtke?

Any word on how Dow is going?
Likely to see more or less of him in 23?
I noticed him in the surge/circle work drill. Ran the lines well. Some good possies and a couple of really good kicks to position.

Note: On the intensity side he wasn't at the Pickett/Banks level, Banks was intense, Pickett off the charts. In the match sim Timmie and Marlion were both up and down the ground and in everything.

And Hopper? Good in the centre area?

Thought I saw him last Thursday in his gear at training? Must admit he did not contest rucking contests, so are you saying he is still there but not actually training?

Colina has only been walking laps and not many at that.
