DAMIEN HARDWICK (Richmond)​

Read Chris Scott's book How To Avoid A Rebuild. If we were in any doubt that Hardwick is not interested in a rebuild following the club's premiership treble, the off-season acquisitions of Jacob Hopper and Tim Taranto silenced those doubts. The success of Geelong in 2022 would have only strengthened the club's resolve that bottoming out and hitting the draft – as Hawthorn has done – is not the only avenue for success. And if Hardwick can get Dustin Martin back to his best, the Tigers will effectively have three 'new' star players at their disposal in 2023. – Martin Smith

Went past PRO yesterday on trains into and out of the city - a few hours apart.
It was only about 35C both times - and I thought I'd catch a glimpse of the boys at start and then at the end of their session.
Was gonna add it as an extra to Caesar's report.
And nobody was there.
At least I couldn't see anyone from the (air-conditioned) train window.
No obvious spy skulking outside the fence.
No players burning up the track.
No bloody players at all.
Slackers!
How are we gonna get back into flag contention if a slightly warmish New Years Day is too much for 'em.

Apart from it being Xmas holidays, I'm pretty sure we don't win flags in January. Might be a bit hard for the boys to stay in premiership mode for 9 months.
