Training For 2023

I sense varying programs, just getting them through to xmas break should be the aim from here, if they are still in rehab post new yrs return then be concerned.

Thursday Training:

Longest training session to date.

Lynch not doing much.
Tarranto pretty much back into it.
Forgot in previous posts to say that Collina hasn't been training and was walking laps with Graham today.
Still no Shai but similar to Marlion will be back after break.

Wouldn't be picking up Narkle too lazy and casual at training for my liking.
Bradtke worth a shot on viewings so far.
An unknown Maori kid training with us today.

Most Interesting inside word, (even though it could be a little biased):

Met a bloke who was over from WA on business today who was watching training and is best mates with Kaleb Smith's dad and their kids played footy together etc.
Said Geelong and Swans had the strongest interest but he was hoping Freo picked him, Richmond only meet him once earlier in the year and then kept mum, so contrary to views expressed here gleaned from family draft video, they had no idea that Richmond were picking him.
The guy reckon's he is quick, (did sprinting when younger), can stand on heads and when he puts on a bit of size could play midfield, he kicked 5 goals from the midfield to win a game in junior footy. Also said he could play half forward as he has great hands and knows where the goals are.
About 181cm and he doesn't think he will grow anymore.
Was injured most of year so maybe clubs didn't get a real good look at him.
Great kid, good attitude.
Went to schoolies but got up each morning for an 8km jog.

That's all today folks have got other things to do.

Cheers

Good on you Julius. Maybe Lynch wants to ease into training this summer. Good read about Smith too.

No I think there is some issue there with Big Tom but hopefully gets a clean run after the break.

With stack being the main recent exception we almost always seem to pick up players who want work hard and improve themselves when no one is looking. Love this strategy. This is what gets you “Kane Lamberts“ at late picks.

Exactly. Feel like if we got Narkle it'd end up the same way Stack has for us

This is what December reports are all about. Nameless businessman interstate who is player's dad mate tells us he can do anything and play any spot posted on the internet. It's the modern-day bush telegraph.

And it gets me excited. Makes me think we have one.

Both spotted at our training session today.

Pala Kuma
Club(s): Bendigo Pioneers/Robinvale-Euston
Height: 182cm
Weight: ?
D.O.B: 10-01-2005

---------------------------

Luke Teal
Club(s): Oakleigh Chargers
Position: Medium defender
Height: 189cm
Weight: 80kg
D.O.B: 20-05-2004

SNAPSHOT: “A medium defender able to play on small and medium forwards while also providing rebound with his skill and composure.”

It has been a tricky year for Luke Teal, missing the first three weeks of the NAB League season missing some of the bigger games but returned against Calder Cannons in Round 4. He successfully had 19 disposals, and although was shaky early, he quickly got going again and by the end of the year was really hitting his straps.

Teal is a good size for a modern footballer, standing at around 190cm and playing mostly as a defender has played on a range of types but mostly small forwards with his biggest task against Harry Sheezel in Round 16. That was a good battle, with Teal finishing that game with 20 disposals and was a real weapon with his sharp kicking.

With his ability to shut down while also provide rebound, Teal could project to be like Collingwood defensive duo Brayden Maynard and Isaac Quaynor who both had a huge years for Collingwood showing those types of players to be very valuable in modern football.

Teal would finish the year only managing four games with Oakleigh Chargers but would average 17.8 disposals and five marks per game and although he has not shown to get the huge numbers like a Lachlan Cowan or Jakob Ryan, he has also had an interrupted year and has had to play more lockdown roles. Teal would also play the final game for Vic Metro against Vic Country which was his first representative game since last year where he also excelled down back.

Disposal Efficiency is the key with any Tongan boy from Robinvale. Also endurance can be problematic. if you can find one that has endurance and can kick you may have something.

Early talk on Smith and Seth is certainly exciting we might have 2 here. The juniors selected all have a whiff of Richmond Man about them.

You are a dead set legend caeser. For someone that lives interstate and only gets down to Melbourne every 3-4 months these are gold

Some heat already for the likes of Brown and banks to negotiate.
Think you’re suffering from premature evaluation. :p
Neither have kicked a ball in anger
