Trade Week - Richmond Only

I reckon it will happen robert,we will trade out pick 6 plus another for Norths first next year, and we go in with 7 picks.
I'm pretty confident of that happening. Norf will blink on draft night. If they haven't already, behind the scenes.

Rawlings is an absolute moron who should've been sacked years ago, but even he would be going to new depths of stupidity by betting his entire house at 2 (way overs) on Tauru instead of grabbing two of say Armstrong/Faull/Whitlock and Berry/Lindsay/Hotton or whoever.

Then again, it's Norf and Rawlings so there's no total guarantee. Guy is a dud.

The question in the end is whether there is any chance that if North trades down to 6 Tauru is gone at 6?
Unlikely, yes. Impossible, no
It’s a pity north blinked in the Daniel trade we could have done something like 2 and 25 for 6 and 18.

Still think it is 6 and 20 for 2.

We get FOS and Lalor.
Next pick is 10..we get Reid.
Reid is a super tallent. Hurt his knee in the Coates League final very early.
Then 2 talls at 11 and 18.
Then 2 smalls/ utility .

7 picks

3 mids
2 talls
1 small
1 utility

Perfect.

Trade out Pick 6, for which pick ?
Pick 2,and then we trade out another for Norths first next year,if the talk around is true, that North want to trade out there first pick next year.
2 picks next year in the top 8 at the very least ,it also gives Blair some ammo if he does any wheeling and dealing at the Trade table.

Wouldn't do that deal unless Norths F1 pick is involved.

I will be shocked if we trade Pick 6 for Pick 2 now. If we get Pick 2, it will have to be another way.

I don't know. My feeling is we also want to strengthen our 2025 F1 hand and whilst we can do it under that scenario it probably leaves us with 6 picks.

I will be very surprised if Nth offer F1...it will be too valuable to them.
We need pick 2.
We dont need pick 6 as much....unless Jagga is wanted above FOS.
We dont need pick 20
I believe it is a win for both teams.

Nth may get an offer from somewhere else..ie Saints/ Giants combination.
I would be really unhppy if we miss FOS over being too stubborn.

FOS...LALOR...REID....plus Taranto..plus Sharp next year...Plus another in 2026.
MIdfield suddenly high class.

We don't need pick 20? Absolutely we do.

That's a Cooper Hynes or a Whitlock etc

We need every good pick we can get given how far back we're coming from.

There are so many scenarios floating around that I wouldn't be shocked at anything.

The one deal I like is one that may see very inconsequential to some and that's the rumoured 10 or 11 to port for 13 and 29. The reason I like it is that is gives us 9 picks and the ability to trade and lose a pick or two and still retain 7 or 8 picks. Port may still want to do that but it is the sort of deal that would happen on the night because they are probably targeting a specific player and need to be sure that he is still there.

Yep because of the evenness, therefore differing rankings clubs have - there will be seemingly big offers to move into that pick.

i.e. At pick 23 some clubs will have players internally ranked at say 10 available at that pick.

They will then trade up to that pick 10's worth to obtain pick 23.

And we are just about the only sellers in the market. We could get some astonishing "overs".

It's why am against losing picks. Any of our picks in the 20's could end up netting a top 10 pick next year. That is the worth we need to place on it if using it to trade up to say pick 2.

Our picks 18, 20, 23 and 24 are incredibly valuable. The key is to find the right balance between getting overs for them and retaining enough ourselves to rebuild our playing stocks.
Blair is earning his salary this year for sure !!

you're only doing that deal if its 6 & 20 for 2 & F1?
Giving up an extra pick to move up 4 spaces in this draft?
North want pick 6 more than we want to get rid of it.
No skin off our nose if we say no.
They want 6 + something else then they pay the price.
Why should we over pay for their incompetence?

I reckon our aim to should be to end up with 10 picks either in the 1st rd this year or next, or very early 2nd rd. We have 10 now, so any trades will hopefully not equal a net loss of picks.
I'd count Norths F2 as an early pick, so if we trade out one of our 20s picks for 2 it should include the F2 coming back,

Same, I've been all in on FOS for months now. Has been my number 1 for a while, but I can see why we go Lalor, but if we do, FOS and Lalor is a perfect duo. If we can do some other trades to get up and snag Jagga too, then we'll have done very well.

I'd still love to do those suggested trades with both North and the Saints.
The one thing that nags at me in regards to the saints is that if they truly are interested in splitting one of their picks if I was them it would be pick 8 I would split not pick 7.

That could be a possibility.

6 and 20 for 2 and F2
6 and 11 for 2 and F1 also in play I reckon

Redders has proposed 10 and 18 for 2 I think, probably less of a chance as it reduces the likelihood of North Getting Tauru

Reckon North will still be weighing up FOS against Tauru too, as they could play FOS off a HFF to start with and not impact their mid rotations but I think they know that their list is aging somewhat from an age perspective (its why I think they will allow LDU to leave and I reckon they'd be open to Larkey - seems strange, but Larkey is 26 now, starting next year at nearly 27, if they don't improve a lot next year he will be nearly 28 going into 2026, does his age count him out in their rebuild timeline? Possibly, so I think thats why they are desperate for talls. Personally if I'm North, I'm doing the 6 and 11 for 2 and F1 deal and pushing for Tauru and Armstrong as their 2 this year.

I guess it depends who we think they are after, and vice versa. If the deals are splitting 7 and we will include 10, but if its 8 we won't (as we think they might take the player we want at 7), then it becomes a decision as to how much they want that player over the 2 for 1 deal.
