Trade Week Prediction Competition

I predict we will offer up Farmer and McGuane and a couple of others and will get no interest and will manage no trades at all.

hmm tend to agree, doubt any club will be able to unload their duds to others. Will come to draft picks

Not much of a net result there Tooheys.

Just trying to be somewhat realistic jimbob.
If (as unlikely as it might be) we're going to pick up Mitch Clark, it's going to cost somewhere.
Personally I'd be very happy with that result but I don't think it would get it done.

I tend to agree. I think we will see some trading involving the clubs in the Top 8 as they try to get some top up talent in a weak draft.

But realistically, unless we put Foley on the table, I don't see much interest.

then he will have worms like barrott jumping on the bandwagon of bagging the club.

Start bagging the club,,,,,,,,,

So he is being kind now,who does he barrack for anyway, love to know,so when we are beating whoever it is,it will *smile* him off no end.

Wish he would just crawl under a rock.

Edwards would have some appeal to SA clubs,,,,,although not for a "BIG FISH,but with a Compo,or first round ,or both ,could land a nice player.

Not sure tttt.

He might, but if we were serious about making a trade somewhere, I don't see Edwards being a factor in it. He is also apparently happy at the Tigers and not keen to leave.

Maybe for Maric? Who knows.

so much talk..little action.

will be happy with a similar result to last yr.

a targetted player plus a surprise trade say a foley to sydney for Parker and say a pick ?

I just don't think foley should be an option,

He should have a better year next year than this year,if he has the injury concerns behind him,and a cracker pre -season.

With good clubs needing 6-8 midfielders to rotate now,we only have 4-5,so really need to keep foley and add another class act,and release lids through there as well.

Give up foley, and we have only 3-4.

Games are won and lost in the middle ,more so now days, and thats why a quality ruck is more important now, than 20 years ago.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he should be either.

But when I look at our list and try to work out who might be offered and who might attract interest, Foley is the only possibility I see.

Agree streak,

So looks like our only options are picks,compo,.......

And there-in lies a clue as to why most propsed trades are implausable. If you go in expecting to 'win' you don't get deals done. It has to be win-win with both clubs happy. And that generally means swapping types that you have too many of for different types of players. Our depth means we don't have too many of anything. There is no good player not getting a game for us because of the other blokes in his position.

Agree, but refer to the Tambling deal. Or us taking Farmer and McMahon. There are heaps of samples of lop sided deals. We need to be on the positive end of as many as possible. Grigg (and houli) also prime examples from last year.

Exactly, aim for an incremental upgrade - our needs, there needs. Only time you really win in these situations in when the player becomes estranged in some way.

Maric TRADE Nason & 2nd round pick
Morton to Melbourne TRADE MFC 2nd round pick
Mitch Clarke + 3rd pick pick TRADE Foley (RFC pay part of his next year's salary)
Gwilt TRADE 1st round compo pic + 4th Round pick (try to throw in McG & Thursfiled)
Rodan TRADE Edwards + 3rd round pick

Do you reckon we want Gwilt? Have you heard a rumour Al?
