Streak said:I tend to agree. I think we will see some trading involving the clubs in the Top 8 as they try to get some top up talent in a weak draft.
But realistically, unless we put Foley on the table, I don't see much interest.
tigertigertigertiger said:Edwards would have some appeal to SA clubs,,,,,although not for a "BIG FISH,but with a Compo,or first round ,or both ,could land a nice player.
tigertigertigertiger said:I just don't think foley should be an option,
He should have a better year next year than this year,if he has the injury concerns behind him,and a cracker pre -season.
With good clubs needing 6-8 midfielders to rotate now,we only have 4-5,so really need to keep foley and add another class act,and release lids through there as well.
Give up foley, and we have only 3-4.
Games are won and lost in the middle ,more so now days, and thats why a quality ruck is more important now, than 20 years ago.
Streak said:Don't get me wrong, I don't think he should be either.
But when I look at our list and try to work out who might be offered and who might attract interest, Foley is the only possibility I see.

Lennox Street said:And there-in lies a clue as to why most propsed trades are implausable. If you go in expecting to 'win' you don't get deals done. It has to be win-win with both clubs happy. And that generally means swapping types that you have too many of for different types of players. Our depth means we don't have too many of anything. There is no good player not getting a game for us because of the other blokes in his position.
