Trade period 2021

New Geelong CEO Steve Hocking is talking tough on the Dockers protracted efforts to secure a trade for Jordan Clark “if they want him, then they need to cough up.”
@9NewsMelb
At least SHocking is consistent, Geelong’s approach to this trade so far is “Stand Stand “

The Jordan Clark standoff will go into the final hours, with Fremantle wanting to use pick 22 alone to get the deal done & Geelong wanting an extra third-round pick or No.19.

My money is on Geelong.

Think we fell off the perch this year. 1st to 12th is some drop.
We need to get better in the middle, and deliver the ball better inside 50. Lynch is a hit up forward, we need to use him as such. We got motoring in those finals against The Cants hitting him up, and the rest of our usual game took over, capitalising on the panic and fear of the oppo. We had no gears this years.

Will need significant improvement from RCD, Ross, Dow and a few others to improve. Got smashed in the midfield all year. Smashed.
Ultimately they will dictate how we go next year. Get our depth back after losing Ellis, Markov, Butler etc in recent years.

I hope Ding Dong Bell tells Shocking to FRO. Clark is not best 22 and not even best 25. Pick 22 is generous.

Every year the Trade period fails the hype.
Its because Trade Radio overhypes it every year by inventing trades and stories

Yep it was embarrassing at times. We were last or near last for stoppages and center clearances.

Injuries are no excuse either as we still got spanked even when we had the likes of Cotchin, Martin and Edwards playing.

If we are hoping to improve next year then a quality midfielder (Mitchell or O'Meara) is a must.

Disappointing that we don't have the $ left in the TPP system to make a cheeky offer for one.

I think you will find losing Soldo played a major part in our dysfunctional midfield.

If Balmey's saying that publically then the rebuild is on and the window is closed
Classic Balmey, lowering the public's expectations. If he comes out and says "we have to win next year otherwise we are stuffed for the next 6" it's very boom or bust.

The Teague train will bring some method. Toot toot!

Is there any chance of us getting a top 3 pick?

It would be timely for our next young gun midfielder to arrive ASAP so they can train alongside Cotchin/Martin/Edwards etc.

I’ve avoided all trade news except for what I see on here. The talk of us trading first rounders for 28yo mids doesn’t fill me with confidence, but whatever the outcome, it’s a relief to kind of sit back knowing the club is in good hands either way.

There is pick #1. There is pick#4, 123.

Daicos and Darcy F/S looming certain 2 and 3. Pick #3 is pick #5.

BTW there is a lot of "Who's on 1st ?" about talking to you on this topic.

1 is 1. But 3 is 5, 123. 2 may be 3 and 3 may be 2. But 4 could be anything. Not to say 4 is any good. But 5 is useless. And 3 is 5, 123.

At least it's not 6 which is cursed.
Unless there is a bid and 6 is 7
Which isn't cursed but a blessing.

In short
6 bad 7 good 123
5 no
4 who knows
3 is the go
2 blows
1 no go for 7 15 26 and 38
