Tom Mitchell

No, he’s not crap but he’s just an accumulator of the ball that does little damage.
I don’t want to sound like I think we should get him, however be fairly handy with the right midfield around him . In saying that think Dow will be a better footballer in a similar role this time next year

Why are you so rabidly insistent that we just have to get Mitchell ?

The perfect replacement for Prestia is not a plodder like Mitchell. Quinton Narkle has stepped up this year and his stats are almost the same as Prestia’s. He is Shai’s mate and also managed by Carr. He has also put his contract talks on hold at the Cats. Probably get him for a second rounder. He will become one of the increasing “brotherhood” at the Tigers.
Fair call. I sat and watched Mitchell ply in rd 3 2018 at the G against the Tigers. Won a stack of contested ball. If the deal isn’t right for him fair enough, but if he can get back to 80-90% of what he produced 2018 pre- broken leg, then that is a very, very good player. I get the other arguments, its all about what you give up. Although the lack of respect for him on here is a bit of a joke

I'm getting the 'our players are the best, everyone else's are utter sh1t' type of vibe here....

Mitchell for the right price, and i say that again... the right price could keep our window open little longer. to say his is sh1t is just wrong imo.

Can I get a "Hell Yeah"

Probably not true because the reporter is the same guy who thought he knew Jack’s medical history better than Jack.

He was totally exposed as a liar, so will never have credibility with me.

If it’s someone else reporting it and it happens to be true, then it’d only be leaking out because the two clubs have already come to a deal behind the scenes.

Dimma hinted at tweaking the game plan after recent losses.
We’ve since dramatically increased our uncontested numbers.
Tom Mitchell is the uncontested prototype.
Hawthorn want to rebuild, we want to contend.
It might be best for both clubs if we get proven midfield support and Hawthorn gets a 2nd rounder / packaged type deal / a young player under 22.

This dynasty was built through a mature period of time where we only traded 1 first rounder in 17 years, and that was for a 24yo proven gun mid vice captain former top 10 pick who perfectly complimented our young core stars in age and style of play.

So if true, I definitely wouldn’t expect the club to deviate from those values by trading a 1st rounder.

We don’t have a spare 1st rounder, we’ve just pushed one forward due to the covid draft, so we still need to use both picks.
I agree with most of this but not - ‘Tom Mitchell is the uncontested prototype’ - like Jordan McMahon?
His natural game is as a contested ball beast. Maybe he is trying to play a role for the Hawks game style if he is more uncontested now, but pre broken leg he was built on inside ball . Would get 35 with 20 contested regularly

I haven’t been able to find a player I like in the number 26 since Patto left and I think “Mitch “ would look good in the 26 so I can start wearing the old *smile* Smith gurney again

Remove the 2 and you'll be closer to the mark.

In a fantasy football world it is a no brainer, but in the real world its a hard NO.
Hawks would want a good 1st rd pick
TM is on solid money and his contract runs through to 2023
TM is 29 next May and is pretty banged up
Unless we change our style of play he doesn't really suit us
Has been racking it up at Hawks for years but had no real effect on their success.

Sort out Bolton, CCJ and Cool then see what we can get in a trade or Free Agent. Failing that go to the draft. 2 firsts/seconds/thirds picks...we are the envy of the other clubs.

If we want to chase an inside accumulator we should remind Clayton Oliver who gave him his first taste of an AFL club.

hell no
will not run back when required to do
lazy ........

off to nrth or the suns

So if Tommy wants out of Hawthorn that makes another one of their high profile recruits that hasn’t worked out. Scully, Patton, Mitchell….Wingard to follow.
