I kept it pretty quiet at the time, but after that day I was convinced Dimma was an outstanding coach.
It was a *smile* game against GC @ the G, Dimma pulled the reins in the last 10 minutes & his 3 moves paid straight off.
- Left Dusty on the ground when he was due to come off.
- Pushed Hammer forward & he either kicked a goal or set Dusty up for a goal, maybe both, cat recall now
- Released Conca from his tagging job on Gablett
He also had a blue with Brendan Lade, as Lade wouldn't take Reece of Gablett, he said & I quote
"*smile* hell Ladey, I've told you 3 *smile* times, let Reece play"
best ever footy experience
Edit:
The whole experience was great, started off on the Thursday when I was introduced to the whole playing/coaching group in the GR Room, my name up on the screen etc.
Poor old Broady, saw me (I was his only sponsor in 2016) and he assumed I was there as they were going to announce his debut
Then sat with them for the oppo analysis meeting.
Wilbur Williams then took me up into the JD stand on 3 or 4 occasions & was explaining the game plan & reiterating what was spoken about at oppo meeting.
Game day, was escorted around by Jacka Smith & or Dan Richardson, couldn't go onto ground after the 2nd pre game siren, so was downstairs in warm up room with Broady as he was emergency and also not allowed on ground after that siren.
Only day at footy I havent had a beer
I loved every moment
