Tickets to round 1

Got my upgraded reserved tickets for the First Round! M1 front row behind the goals, Southern Stand!

Got to be careful when you speak to Ticketek and Ticketmaster, often they don't know what they are talking about, expecially if you get a new employee. First time I rang they said M1 not available for another week and then I rang back and spoke to different person and they sold me 7 tix straight away in the M1 Richmond area, so be careful who you speak to and push the point where you want to sit and make them re-check it for you!

Judging by the fact that M1 were reserved seats, that would almost certainly suggest to me that this is a TICKETED MATCH. Get your tickets early.

Tickets went on sale this morning.............. Ticketek not Ticketmaster.

Ticketmaster lost the contract to sell tix for the MCG.........

All Tix for MCG are now Ticketek! 132 849 or http://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?sh=RICHM0109

Tickets are available only for members from today. Does anyone know if this includes the Tiger Insider membership?
Otherwise I'll have to wait until March 10th when general admission goes on sale.

I think it would only include ticketed members neve. I'd certainly be giving it a try but I don't think Tiger Insider would qualify. If there's a membership number on the ticket just quote that and cross your fingers. Good luck.

Haha. Well not quite a beating but I did cop a few hits. Im not really one to take football to seriously but apparently the carlton cheersquad are. Put me off football a fare bit to be honest.

They only take it so seriously because they are outcasts of Australian Society and therefore cling together for support and when in numbers (you won't get boo out of them when they are alone) they like to take their unhappiness with their life out on others not of their flock.

Don't worry about mace or tasers Checkers, if you are a hygenic person they will have a aversion to you.

It's a pity we can't take our dogs to the footy, I had a Rotty who hated the Carlton jumper even more than I do for years. Alas he is no longer with us.

I believe you need an actual membership barcode to be able to book tickets today??

But you CAN book tickets for guests.... I bought tix for 2 barcode upgrades and 5 straight out tickets for my guests also in the front row behind goals Richmond end.

Would I be able to book tickets for "guests" using our barcodes if I'm not acually booking tickets for ourselves?

Thats a hard one Rosy, I would suggest yes you would be able to do that. Upgrade your membership tix @$13 each and provide ur barcodes and then buy extra seats for any more than the first 2 tix required and let your guests just use your tickets. Standard tix behind goals are around $34 each

Sorry, I did check that website, where do you click to buy the tickets today? I cant see where??

I would want to do 2 richmond member upgrades and the rest as guest, is there a limit to guests coz I have to buy for 7 others.

http://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?sh=RICHM0109
then choose the dates on the right hand side then click the button below.

There is a maximum amount of 5 guests able to be purchased per barcode upgrade.
so if you have 2 x upgrades for member tix you can get 5 guests on one barcode and 5 guests on the other barcode.

If i want a 'standing room only' i'm assuming i dont need a ticket other than my membership on the day?

That's correct as far as I know.........
Although some grounds I understand do not allow standing room only, such as Skilled Stadium... dont quote me on that one. Certainly Etihad and MCG you can go in on your members ticket and stand at the Punt Rd end and drink beer and sing!

Ah the Ponsford stand, I miss the original. I used to enjoy the atmosphere up there. It had the best "old school" feel at the MCG since the Southern was built.

Ticketek site saying AFL reserve allocation exhausted Round 1 vs. Carlton...
It also says that tickets for AFL members don't go on sale until Friday. Don't know what the go is there.

hmmm..general admission is sounding more and more unlikely...think i might have to bite the bullet and book reserved seats for the day.....
