Thoroughbred racing

Yeah it’s amazing up there in Brisbane Don.

My young nephew goes to Iona up there. Unreal how serious they take it. The facilities etc.

He also plays with Morningside juniors. Same thing. Kids, people everywhere.

Football is killing it in Queensland.

My lad is at Marist Ashgrove.

Iona are a very strong school for AFL.

Amazing the growth, I think the schools only started playing about 4 years ago

I read an article last year, V’landys was in a chopper in the Hunter Valley in NSW and was shocked by how many AFL grounds he saw, he spat the dummy apparently.

I read that somewhere too, would have loved to hear the carry on!

Ah nice.

Yes, the Gorillas (love that name) have a good program. So do Morningside.

I was up there last year visiting my sister. I watched my nephew play a couple of games. I was shocked at how many footy grounds are in Brisbane now. They’re everywhere.

This just brought back a memory.

25 odd years ago, having just moved to Brisbane I went to watch a game at Morningside.

Proceeded to get blind drunk in the clubhouse. Pretty sure I would have made a complete *smile* of myself.

Never been back in fear of being remembered and refused entry :ROFLMAO:

Hah hah hah. If it’s the same ground, that’s quite a big oval isn’t it.

I had a couple of beers in their clubhouse. Awesome. TAB, Foxtel and everything in there.

It’s a massive oval. And a great set up.

Morningside were back then, and even more so now, a quality organisation.

Yeah they seem to have it going on. My nephew and his family love being part of it. Very collective club that would put a lot of Victorian clubs to shame.

Footy in Brisbane - and even down the coast- really is big now.

And the tentacles are spreading.

Sunshine Coast now have a lot of clubs.

One of my female employees, a 16yo in year 12, goes to Kelvin Grove State College. They now have both a boys and a girls AFL program. She is playing and absolutely loves it.

Things are moving very quickly up here.

V’Landys is a *smile* moron. Typical of Sydney. All show no substance.

What’s the good oil punters?

I‘m playing around with Coolangatta and Fireburn in the Slipper.

Colette gets another chance on a better, but still slow track.

If leader bias at Rosehill will back In The Congo at good odds in the Galaxy.

Flemington tough, but very keen on Zaaki in the ASM.

Best of luck!

I have always though backing odds on favourites in small WFA fields is fraught with danger.
Yes it's amazing how often the favourite gets rolled in a small field. Montefilia is no slouch either, I've backed her a few times...........but not today:cry:

Just never can tell.

She was too short for me, even in a Multi.

Was of course the last leg of one of mine paying $10

Just got Anamoe, Remlaps Gem and Zaaki up at a touch over $15 so a bit happier now
