The Autumn Sun got home like Winx!!!! Wow what a good horse, he was giving them a dozen lengths at 400.

Great race. Bloody good horse.

I was in Fundamentalist.... But not smart enough to have a quinella with the odds on champ. We should have Ali v Frazier in a fortnight but I think Waller and the respective owners aren't too concerned what the purists want.

Whats going on with bowman? Very ordinary ride on the bull and hes taken/given the day off???

Would he have left at half time of a prelim final if he was playing? Must have been something extraordinary for the sake of 40 minutes... Or something that was so distracting that he could not ride with 100% focus.

Very strange. Maybe he knew avilius wasnt gonna win?

How'd you finish ET?

3 bets 3 seconds for leysy - The Bull, Shoals, Naantali

Tale of what if's...

A genuine even Leysy.

Upped my Sunlight the place stake to 25% @$4 and backed Osborne Bulls the win off to 60%, so i was only a half length short of genius ;D and ended the day with exactly the same as i started

Was very unimpressed with Bowmans ride. Think he did nearly everything wrong and he still nearly won. No excuse for getting stuck in traffic in a straight 6 IMO.

Whats with Barond Vorster? He 's the fattest 50kg bloke ive ever seen.

He looks like craig williams if he bought a pie shop

There has been criticism of Bowman's ride but watching a replay not sure it was that bad. With 23 horses all looking for the fast lanes down the outside i think OB was always going to get stuck behind traffic.

Ive had the benefit of neither replay, nor partiality JB, so ill forgive him on your word.

Anyone object to me referring to Barond Vorster, who we are going to see plenty of, and i think we're gonna like,

As Augustus Gloop?

Anyone (leysy?) Got a strong opinion

On Alizee V Mystic J in Horses got Talent?

Im in a bit of a bind. Both have been good to me and both strutting.

Happy Clapper would school them in sydney, but its in melbourne.

With a 3kg pull, im leaning toward Michael Jackson

Think there will some value in the market on this race. A heap of 18 year olds will be big brother betting on the no hopers swelling the pool.

Its also really a 9 horse field so i see value in the place market. Hartnell jumps out at me with saver potential.

The flying Tassie filly to stamp herself as a champion on Sat for leysy ET.

Settle back with cover then when she let's go - Bang! She what a sustained sprint she really has.

Our new star of the turf to replace the great one will be born!!!

$10K Tas bred, conquering all!!

Barrier 16, for MJ but will jump from 12 if the emergencies don't get a start.

Yeah i love the trainers candour. He goes

' thats ok, shell have half the field in front and half behind and she prefers being outside horses'

He is refreshingly very bullish about her prospects.

Basically said with the weight relief and the spring in her step after the guineas,

She wins!

Im not gonna save. Id follow leysy and trinder into sheik mohamed al bin godolphin's daughter torture chamber if it came to it.

Having returned from my pre season camp to South America believe it is my turn for the Punters this week. Have not missed much whilst away, My Pendant pulled up sore at Flemington and is in a paddock for 6 weeks.

Have a few runners over the next few days, Lage at Pakenham tonight (Race 3) - forget her first run when wide and all over the place. Will go better tonight with a good draw and great each way value at $19 - there is an odds on pop in the race so only hoping. She has shown good ability though.

Mossbelle in the first at the Valley tomorrow night - great each way chance - around the $5 mark. Blinkers first time - will go forward. Good run last start.

Urban Ruler in an easy 1600m race at Flemington Saturday - probably a case of how far...... (he gets beaten by) Has not put in at either of his last 2 starts and no reason this will be any different. Might need some of DKW's prompting to get him going. Last place (which he has a mortgage on) is still $90,000 so we are sort of obliged to run him as he would take about 50 starts to earn that sort of money. Reckon Happy Clapper the one to beat but concede Mystic Journey has a good chance also.

Bet for the Unco's - $10 win Rosehill Race 2 No 4 Easy Eddie got $5 early openers.

Great yarns and tips 44.

I cant believe the VRC didnt make last in the all star mile worth 500k to make the tail of the field as exciting as the head. Imagine jumping up and down and hugging each other in tears after brenton AVdulla (half the field would want the little *smile* on their horse) dives head first off urban ruler as the gates open?

Good luck

Not keen on Alizee T44?

I definately dont want to convince anyone of anything, and excuse me for butting in JB and 44

But here i go.

Alizee's first two runs in were effortless destructions, her 3rd run a real gut buster. Im a huge fan and backed her all campaign and 2 days ago thought she was the winner, but doubt crept in she was past her peak last start and guts got her home? May have had a toll? I also think bowman is in career worst form.

Happy Clapper would win comfortably at randwick, but is about as balanced on his melbourne leg as jack watts.

Hartnell could win. I cant really find a reason why he cant. Only 8 years and 59kg against 4 and 3 and 54kg. BUICK is flying 20,000 miles to ride him and hes astute as anyone

Only a fool would say Grunt cant win a flemington mile, but youde have to take him on trust, and i try my hardest not to do that these days. Means i rarely get a winner in double figures, but im ok with that.

I'll be surprised if these 5 dont trifecta it

That only leaves me with MJ. Im 100% behind leysys girl, only subject to her getting off the ferry in good shape. Ive heard people take horses on that ferry and they get pretty hot down below, but she went ok in the guineas and tassy trinder oozes professionalism to me.

Havnt seen her overseas wins but her melbourne wins were nothing short of extraordinary. The only thing they had in common was a building devastating final 400. She sat 3 wide around the valley then destroyed fundamentalist who the autum sun only nosed out. Then in the guineas she really didnt want to squeeze between horses but did it anyway because she is the next superstar.

I lied about not wanting to convince ewes of anything, and i hope leysys already on at >$4. Get on her.

Im very interested to hear others versions

My thoughts easy.

The way MJ ran through the line last start she's got to be very hard to beat. She gave Fundamentalist a beating in the Spring, and Fundamentalist got beat a pimple by The Autumn Sun last Saturday, that's damn good form!!!!
Happy Clapper had a gut buster last start, so not sure.
Hartnell should box seat from barrier two, i like him.
Grunt, is 3 from 3 at the distance, 2 from 2 at the track/distance, if he could run up to the form that beat a field of Kings will Dream, Kementari, Happy Clapper, Humidor and Black heart Bart in the Makybe Diva he'd be hard to beat.
Alizee, you cant beat winning form, but i like the 3 kg's MJ gets from her.
Amphitrite, couldn't see her turning the tables on MJ, but then you have the David Hayes factor, Boom Time winning the Caulfield Cup, Harlem the last two Australian cups. Hayes has got a bit of the Darren Weir's about him at times.
I've never backed MJ, so had better not start now, as i don't want to moz you and Leysy. Plus she's too short for a mug punter like myself :D

I'm going to back Hartnell, good luck everyone, and especially T44.

Good horse JB but you can't back them all. Reckon she is poor value compared to the other two. Bowman in very ordinary form, drawn 12 (MJ is 16 - might disprove Leysy's theory of barriers not being important)

Would you believe Urban Ruler is subject to Vet's exam tomorrow after having feet issues!!! Fair dinkum, you have $90k on the table and all you have to do is jog around to pick it up and looks like he won't even get to do that. Poetic justice maybe as he should never have been in that race anyway (along with a couple of others)
