Thomson Dow

Just on Dow's Agility test result of 8.06 secs which placed him 3rd at the combine, his PB is actually 7.72 sec which if performed at Combine would have broken the all time Combine record held by Stephen Hill of 7.77 secs o_O

PS. Knowhere can I find anything on his kicking so maybe that might be a bit of a deficiency? Luckily the "Richmond Man" needs to be a running man who overlaps and handballs forward, kicking a secondary consideration;)

Hmm, interesting pick.

I like that he seems to have footy smarts, that is something to look for as hard to teach.

Interesting the comment about a value second round pick - with all the shenanigans going on our first round was 22 in an 18 team competition so looks to be in the right spot.

Definitely looks underdone but of all the teams we have the time to build him up in the VFL and we don't need to put him in the seniors until 2022 really.

Might be a bit of a punt but there's potential there and looks to suit our preferences and to potentially fit our culture.

DS

Yes plenty of time to work with him just as we have with RCD and Turner. Great position to stock pile kids and develop them properly

Reading his bio and looking at the highlights, he does seem like a replacement for Shane Edwards, with good agility in close, a quick handball and maybe a little iffy kicking-wise. A few years building strength and endurance in the twos and hopefully he comes on like Shedda!

Does seem to be a nice compliment to RCD and Ross. And the agility clearly fits into our preferred traits model.

Looks like Alex Gilmore.

Hopefully ends up heaps better
Looks eerily like Danny Meyer.

Hopefully ends up better!

Richmond recruiters don't normally get out of bed until the second round and are rookie specialists

Seems to match our chaos ball game style with quick hands forward and hard running from contest to contest.

Looks to have some grunt, good speed, great hands and likes to tackle.

Needs to add some size to his frame.

Looking fwd to seeing him play VFL next year.

Here is the most comprehensive assessment of Thomson Dow I could find, also from Draft Central:

Averaged a contested mark per game this year, not bad for his size.

Is 3.06 his best time in the 20m?

Looks alot quicker than that

Thomson won't be thrown in the deep end and will be given plenty of time to develop unlike his brother.
