Thomson Dow

Don’t tell me the same posters who were saying Blair is a genius, he knows what he’s doing are now questioning his work?
Well I’ll be……:giggle:

Don’t take it the wrong way, but apparently if they disagree with Blair,’s decisions, they are morons who can ggf. 🤫
Not my words, I believe people can have their own opinions on such matters. (y)
Still think Blair is doing a good job. As I said above, I get the logic, I don't agree with it.

I don't take one small decision in isolation and oscillate on Good/bad. I look at the collective. He's still doing great things.

Maybe you should spend less time trying to antagonise and point score?

Well my first paragraph was quite appropriate.
Secondly if posters can’t have a laugh at that they must be very soft. Antagonise..hardly

Dow can count himself very lucky to get a contract extension after such an uninspiring time at the Tigers. The supporters can se he is not up to AFL footy but is seems the clubs thinks otherwise. A wasted list spot

Good on him. I for one like him, and think he has scope for improvement. Clearly still has a ways to go, so only 1 year feels right.

Will he get displaced by our new draftees? That'll be up to him. Looking forward to seeing how he responds to the challenge.
His scope of improvement can only be witnessed under a microscope. 😂 Five years and he’s still really at the same level from when he first arrived. Too small, lacks strength and size and the modern midfielders eat him up like a Mars bar.

Ditto Ryan , Kosi , Young and Colina. Can’t believe how many terrible players on our list still after all the retirements and delistings. We will need to clear out possibly ten more next year. Ryan has three more years and Kosi one so it’s going to be harder to do so.
Sonsie is also on his last legs and Kmac wth Lynch and Prestia will probably retire.

Pretty sure Kosi’s contract was for 3 years. Giving Ryan a 3 year deal is another head scratcher. Unfortunately when a team gets to where we now are you seem to have to give dud players that extra year just to make up the numbers.

Keep it quite we dont want more wrist slashing but the list management continues to come under the microscope.

It is funny we severely cut in just one draft and thats it folks all we need to do. We havent even had to cut many players. The rats on the sinking ship are leaving in droves.
We better hang onto a pair of duds just to make sure we have enough to cut next year. It's unbelievable. where does that sort of logic come from?

If picks 20 23 24 are like 15 16 17 in normal years why would we not be using them. We have pick one in the rookie and psd why on earth would we not use them and try to upgrade on McIntosh and Dow. What on earth are they thinking.

Im going to tone it all back a bit but i am going to say the alarm bells are ringing.

According to Blair we did what we did to make sure we got a shedful of early picks. Atm you have to ask why we awon't be able to use them all if we keep going like this.

Back to alarm bells im asking are we undervaluing just how deep this draft is? Are we really prepared to do the hard yards?

Apparently it's all about keeping the culture and standards strong. Don't worry about the on field performances. They are not important in professional sport.

Mostly agree TT. But see Colina and Young as still having something to offer.

Its valid. Take a look at Norths "rebuild", how longs that taken? They took LDU in 2017!! Want to do that long of a rebuild, thats fine, most of us don't see North as the goldmark standard for rebuilding but you can put them up there if you want and look down on the importance of culture and standards but their rot set in when they culled all their experience back in what 2016? Standards and culture are some of the most important things in footy, lots of players have talent, its how you develop and nurture that talent that sets out the good from the crap.

We should know this from past Richmond history too.

So facts are not Paddy has got another year , personally wouldn’t have given him another as I believe his foot skills really limit him as a footballer and make him make poor decisions by trying to avoid kicking the Sherrin , however I never care to much about what Mr B thinks I’ll always back Mr H over him any day .

Now how do we turn him into an adequate AFL player ? Could he play in the backline ? Not for me , Forward line ? Nup , so part of the midfield rotation is his only option imho , he’s very much an inside player , however I believe he’s way to light so I like the idea of him adding some genuine bulk , I think he has enough agility that a couple of kegs won’t harm his game , he really needs to hold his position better and while his on the list we must try and get the best out of him , seen worse players make a career out of it

I guess someone needs to protect our kids at VFL level too.?.?
I think Ooze sees something in this guy that the rest of us don't. I was told just before the season that the club expected him to step up and play 22 games and be a key part of our midfield...
I can't see this guys foot skills improving enough to be adequate at AFL level.
Still stumped. Not surprised at all, but stumped.

Yep I think that’s the general consensus General.

Don’t think the cubs need any protecting at VFL level the footballers in the VFL are generally much smaller and slower , plus we have Street coming back , Garner , Wilson , Harris etc who are more then adequate in the middle , in saying that yes I think Dow will be a regular teammate of those
