The SC/DRAFT 2008 - discussion thread.

what instance are you talking about.

If its the B. *smile* one - then Yes as *smile* is out long term/season - thats in the rules.

People can't delist just because they made a bad selection. ( we are considering a trade period at the end of the draft for people who stuffed picks)

The only way delisting can happen, is Long term injuries, salary cap, and to many players in a position ( they are a must as we can't put teams on SC without them being able to fit.

Actually its not as I read them. The rules say you can delist a player and select two on your next pick. I'm not trying to be pedantic but I just want to know how it works for future reference.

So can you can delist due to injury, positional or salary issues as soon as you realise the problem ie in the next available 5 min window?

good point.

for the injury one it is meant to be delist in your turn.

then pick 2 players for your turn. ( yes I missed it.  :-[)  I did let him change it straight away - my stuff up

sorry Mav - I'm not trying to stuff you over, but I did overlook that one.  In saying I stuffed it, I think it needs to stand now though. ( Remind me never to mod again)

It's a bit of tricky one Mav. The only reason U2 wanted to allow delisting before the draft was completed was just like the *smile* situation and to a lesser extent the Everitt (A) situation - you draft someone one day and he gets injured the next (example only).

In hindsight it was probably too generous to allow an immediate delist and replace. My request was for a period, a single week or a few days, of possible delists before the season commences. That is probably the right outcome - but only with hindsight.

Your situation was a change of mind (as far as I can tell) - and that you went along graciously was appreciated. it was more a compliance with our direction for the comp and you probably understood that too.

Guys I do appreciate the effort moderating. Still not clear though on what will happen tomorrow if/when people have the salary cap issues. Is it fix it when you can, fix it on your next turn or fix it in a defined period after the draft? If we dont know, we dont know and it will all work out anyway...but I'm just asking the question!

Yep, far question. i think we are little big pregnant on that one.

Personally, no delists! Leave it to a defined short period prior the first game. Must be a reported injury - post evidence of it. Over salary cap will be more obvious - same with too many in one position, same with duplicate player. There should be very few when it's all said and done - unless a team bus goes over a hill :-X

What do others think - I know ToO doesn;t want any delistings - you get what you pick.

this was the go.

12. You can delist only during one of your draft turns or at the end of the draft. If you delist during one of your draft times then you obviously get 2 picks that turn

I am happy to Squash that rule and just make a 3 day trade period after the draft is finished.

ALL POSTERS TAKE NOTE - NO FURTHER DELISTINGS WILL OCCUR UNTIL AFTER THE DRAFT, WHERE A DESIGNATED 3 DAY TRADE PERIOD WILL BE ANNOUNCED.

I hope this suits. we will learn from this year and hopefully whoever runs it next year :hihi, takes note.

The only other thing that has to be determined still is whether anyone can delist and re-select for any reason, or must there be a specific reason as was the initial goal. ie

In other words will their be a point to delisting, or will it be open slather?

Sorry about the *smile* pick yesterday and the controversy....I try to avoid thinking about Collingwood as much as possible! Honest mistake....

BTW it was my *smile* up not pharace's. :-[

that just confirmed it.

Not long to go, and as my POST to all players last night, no delistings can happen until after the draft.

There will be time to fix up ones mistakes. ;)

Thinking ahead - U2 do you want us to PM the email address we are using so you can invite us to the Private League?

easier, I will just post the league code, so you can just join it.

I will do that after the short trading period, and after everyone has posted their complete list on a TEAM LIST thread that makes there team official.

Then everyone will do a visual audit and we will check there are no double ups or mistakes.

Then we submit on SC - and wait for the season and trash talk to begin :hihi

Been a great success so far and I thank everyone for it.

a few little bumps, but we're learning as we go in this maiden year.

Hey sorry H Tiger I realised you PM'd me about what picks you wanted as you weren't around today. But unfortunately for you (and me!) I was at work all day so was unable to post up your picks. Sorry :-[
